Centre for Progressive Policy (CPP) is a think tank committed to making inclusive growth a reality.
About us
The Centre for Progressive Policy is an economics think tank that champions inclusive growth. By working with national and local partners, our aim is to devise effective, pragmatic policy solutions to drive productivity and shared prosperity in the UK. Inclusive growth is one of the most urgent questions facing advanced economies where stagnant real wages are squeezing living standards and wealth is increasingly concentrated. At CPP, we believe that a new approach to growth is needed, harnessing the best of central and local government to shape the national economic environment and build on the assets and opportunities of place. The Centre for Progressive Policy is independent and impartial. You can also find us on twitter @CentreProPolicy

CPP's Ross Mudie sets out our response to the government's industrial strategy Green Paper 👇 Invest 2035 represents a serious and honest understanding of the UK’s comparative strengths and weaknesses, as well as factors limiting private sector investment in particular. Yet we think there are three areas where the final industrial strategy should go much further: 1. Industrial strategy should focus most attention at the intersection of place and sectoral economic performance. 2. Invest 2035 also views local economic development largely through the city-region lens. 3. A broader, more expansive definition of foundational sectors. 🔗 Read the blog and find our full consultation response at: https://lnkd.in/eEhqpnui

For too long, too many people and places across the UK have been shut out of having a meaningful stake in our economy. 📢 Our economy should help rather than hinder the flourishing of all people and places. The challenge is no longer to make the case for inclusive growth, renewal and innovation, it is to develop the thinking and practice about how to make it happen. 🤝 The progressive change that is needed cannot be delivered by Government alone. There needs to be a partnership between central, regional and local government, both to develop the new ideas and policies to implement them. The Inclusive Growth Network (IGN) has been ahead of the curve. Find out more about the impact of IGN from Annabel Smith at Centre for Progressive Policy 👇
