The year 2024 appears poised to bring a wave of uncertainty to global markets. With elections looming in the UK, US, and beyond, coupled with recessionary concerns weighing heavily on clients' minds, turbulence seems inevitable. ChangeNet Solutions, among other consultancies, anticipates feeling the strain, with expectations for the peak of this pressure to hit by Q2/Q3. However, we maintain optimism for the latter part of the year, foreseeing a slight easing of hiring and project expenditure restrictions as clients gear up for 2025 budget planning and preparatory efforts. From our experience, these fluctuations follow a cyclical pattern, often with initial deep cuts reflecting a risk-averse approach from clients. However, adjustments typically occur as the need for progress becomes apparent, underscoring the importance of ongoing support for change initiatives. To our colleagues and associates, we encourage resilience during the challenging months ahead. Though the climate may be tough in the near term, we hold firm in our belief that optimism will emerge in the latter half of the year. Let us know your expectations and thoughts for the year ahead.

Following our recent announcement on achieving accreditation in the Investor in People standard, we wanted to explain why we have pursued this route and how important this approach is to our core values. In the world of business, we often say “People are our greatest asset” which underscores the importance of investing in people, not just for the sake of their wellbeing, but also for the growth and success of the business. We have always recognised this and are progressing the journey to ensure that this is integral to our guiding principles. People carry our flag, build our brand, deliver our values, are our colleagues and often our friends. Without them we have no business. As we want the business to be a success and grow, naturally we want the best for our people. It is easy to assume that this just happens in the background through good intent, but it is important we take steps to cultivate the wellbeing of our people and recognise the contributions made, and ensure that this is engrained in our strategy and core values. The wellbeing of employees is directly linked to performance. When employees are happy and healthy, both physically and mentally, they are more likely to be productive, engaged, and committed. They are more likely to stay, and more likely to be great advocates for our business. Investing in the wellbeing of employees can take many forms. It can include providing support via health and wellness strategies, offering flexible working arrangements, creating a positive and inclusive work environment, listening and adapting to concerns, needs and ideas, and providing opportunities for personal and professional development and support active contribution. Investor in People certification is an industry standard for Companies on that journey and is an important recognition of intent and achieving associated milestones. Investing in people doesn’t just improve individuals’ wellbeing, it drives business growth. When employees feel valued, they are more likely to strive for the company, be innovative, be loyal, take on leadership roles, and contribute to the company’s growth and strategic goals. Moreover, companies that invest in their people often see a positive impact on their development and profitability. They attract and retain top talent, reduce turnover costs, and improve their reputation in the market. They are more likely to be successful in the long term. All of this has a positive effect for our clients who benefit from motivated resources providing the best service, driving through and supporting their change programmes. Investing in people is not a “nice-to-have”; it’s a “must-have” for any business that wants to grow and succeed. It’s an investment that pays off in terms of improved wellbeing, increased productivity, and business growth. So, let’s put people first, because when we take care of our people, they take care of our business. A big thank you to Gary Inman for partnering with us on this journey

We are delighted to announce that we have now attained the level of "Accredited" with the market leading and highly regarded Investors in People brand. Thank you to all in our team who have worked hard with our colleagues in Investors in People to meet this goal. It is an important step for us to formally recognize our commitment to our people. We will now set our sights on moving up to the next level of "Silver", and look forward to working with our Investors in People colleagues once again.
