We can tell when you use AI to write your CV and supporting statement 👀 But we also understand the reasons why. Job hunting can be a mammoth task. We speak to candidates who are applying for tens, even hundreds of jobs and AI is a timesaver. We're not saying don't use it at all. We're saying use it wisely. Because you're better than a robot and that's why organisations will want to work with you. DO • use AI tools to help you with a first draft, but make sure you include all the details about the role in your prompt. • edit anything written by AI for accuracy and personalisation DON'T • send in the same AI generated application for lots of jobs. It makes you sound like a robot. 🤖

Janet Legget-Jones (pictured below), a trustee at ENT UK, came to us with a challenge. The organisation - a professional membership body representing ear, nose and throat surgeons - needed a new CEO to replace someone 'brilliant' and were concerned about 'finding candidates who could fill such large shoes.' Glen Manners listened closely to Janet to understand the brief and collaborated with the previous CEO and trustee board to create a bespoke process for finding a new CEO. Janet says, “We needed a new CEO to replace a brilliant person who had formalised much of our governance and structure. Initially, we were concerned about finding candidates who could fill such large shoes, but we were pleasantly surprised when three strong candidates emerged, making the decision a difficult one.” Huge congratulations to Amanda Stratford, the successful candidate on a brilliant first month in the role. Sarah Tite and her talented team of coaches will provide three funded coaching sessions to support the fundraisers we place 💚 There's lots of focus in recruitment on the application and interview stages, but for us, making sure people get a good start in their new role is really important too. It's the reason we're investing in this support. Starting a new role is intimidating, a moment where people can feel vulnerable before they've formed supportive relationships in their new workplace. Sarah and her team will create space for newly placed fundraisers to work through their fears and build confidence. Sarah says, "You might want to spend time making a plan to step out of overwhelm; or to prepare for a challenging conversation; maybe what you need is a safe space to explore and get some clarity." For us, someone starting a new role doesn't mark the end of their relationship with Charity People. Many of our team have followed and supported people through their careers as jobseekers and hiring managers for many years." This partnership is about being there for fundraisers to help them get the best possible start in a new position. Issues with wellbeing are often at the heart of unhappiness at work. We hear from hiring managers and job seekers that burnout is leading to high staff turnover and is a big push factor for finding a new role. Insight into wellbeing across the charity sector is vital to help us all contribute to healthier workplaces and continue to create change. We're thrilled to be partnering on the Charity Well Project 2025 with Claire Warner alongside Fundraising Everywhere, JustGiving and Lightful to find out more about wellbeing in the sector. Amelia Lee, Regional Director at Charity People, says, “As soon as Claire asked us to get involved with Charity Well, we knew it had to be a ‘YES’. As recruiters in the charity sector, we listen to stories about wellbeing everyday. Alongside flexibility, it’s arguably the greatest driver for candidates changing jobs and therefore also a serious concern for our charity partners. We hear about increasing demands on services and the urgent need to diversify income, as well as uncertainty about where the flexibility dial will eventually land. Right now, we believe the biggest threat to the charity sector is burnout. That’s why this research is so vital and why we decided to help make it happen. Charity People strives to put ED&I at the heart of everything it does (one of our core values being inclusion), so we’re especially keen to see outcomes and impact for typically underrepresented talent.” Please take a few minutes to share your experiences here: https://lnkd.in/ekyi2EVr
