𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 Ahead of tomorrow’s official St. Andrew's Day celebrations, many of our teams have embraced the opportunity to honour their Scottish heritage and culture in a truly delicious way. Our talented chefs have created vibrant dining experiences with a traditional Scottish menu of Scotch broth, haggis, neeps, tatties and Mince and Vegetable Pie. Whilst other chefs have celebrated the classics with an international twist, including Spanish or Veggie haggis, tasty chicken or butternut squash Tacos with salsa and avocado smash and of course, a cranachan pot for dessert (no whisky). Food is a powerful tool for connection, and we’re proud to use it as a way to celebrate heritage and foster a sense of community. Wishing everyone a joyful and flavour-filled St. Andrew's Day. #StAndrewsDay #ScottishCulture #HeritageThroughFood #Community

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect, to come together, and to celebrate the ties that bind us. At TASIS, this cherished tradition takes on even greater meaning — creating a true home away from home. This year, José and the team are delivering not one, but two, fantastic events. On Friday, the Head of School hosted a special lunch for valued international relocation partners who play such an important role in welcoming families to the TASIS community. Feasting on Cauliflower Arancini, Slow Roasted Crown Prince Squash with Spiced Pumpkin Velouté, Roasted Turkey with Sweetcorn Puree and a delicious Red Cherry Pie to finish, the guests were delighted by the exquisite menu served. This week, the entire school will celebrate with a sumptuous festive lunch that brings students, staff, and faculty together in the spirit of unity and cultural appreciation before the Thanksgiving break. Thanksgiving at TASIS is about more than delicious food; it’s about honouring traditions, sharing stories, and fostering a sense of belonging for all. #ThanksgivingAtTASIS #Community #HomeFromHome #IndependentSchools Jose Afonso

Nurturing talent and creativity We truly are a people-focused company passionate about developing our team and nurturing their talents. Through our craft workshops and training courses we actively encourage personal development through practical learning and mentoring, something poignantly demonstrated by Max Faulkner – Head Chef at #RugbySchool. Max joined Chartwells Independent in 2022 as the Kitchen Manager for the flagship day house at Rugby School. Before this, Max spent a decade as Head Chef at Kilworth House in Leicester, where he earned and maintained 2 AA Rosettes. Just six months into his role at Rugby School, Max's skills and dedication earned him a promotion to Head Chef, where he now oversees operations across five boarding houses and manages five kitchen teams. Passionate about high-quality cuisine, Max continues to deliver fine dining experiences for the school staff while effectively managing kitchen teams and operations. Max was recently awarded Silver in the Compass Senior Chef of the Year at Edgbaston. Congratulations Max – we couldn’t be more proud of you. #nurturingtalent #independentschools #chartwellsindependent Matthew Bennett Max Faulkner Neil Satchwell

The power of great food and positive dining experiences cannot be underestimated. At Chartwells Independent, we are honoured to feed a great number of boarding school pupils across the estate, many of whom are international students. For the boarder, school is the term-time home and the staff the term-time family. Food is not only the provider of nutrition and energy but becomes a key provider of fun and innovation, especially at suppertime and weekends. We understand that the international boarding community do not want us to poorly replicate their cuisines! By leveraging the extensive network of culinary talent within the Chartwells family we are able deliver truly authentic global dishes in our schools, using traditional recipes and methods, partnered with the finest ingredients. As a result, every day we serve up familiar favourites evoking feelings of home, no matter where home may be. #InternationalStudentsDay #IndependentSchools #QualitySimpleDelicious

Partnerships flourish when values align. When a client shares such a brilliant example of collaboration, led by one of our team, we can’t help but celebrate. It’s a proud moment and wonderful to see the shared values of #community #collaboration and #connection brought to life so naturally by our colleagues. Thank you Colleen, Michael Shepherd and the #ChartwellsIndependent team at #RHS. Thank you Irfan H Latif FRSA for your generous words.

"Give us this day our daily bread." This morning, I enjoyed stepping into the Royal Hospital School kitchen bright and early to bake #bread alongside Colleen, our talented baker. There’s something grounding about the smell of fresh dough and the feel of it in your hands as it comes together, ready to nourish our #community. Watching Colleen work with such skill and dedication reminds me of the importance of simple, wholesome routines. At #RHS, it’s not just about providing nutritious meals; it’s about fostering a sense of #warmth, #care, and #connection with everything we do. Every experience is part of our holistic approach to nurturing young people from academics to dining. Thank you, Colleen, for sharing your craft with me today, and for helping create that irresistible, fresh-bread smell that welcomed everyone to the dining hall this morning! #wellbeing #inclusion #diversity #Education #GBBO Michael Shepherd Chartwells Independent

Comforting and satisfying with every bite. Our chefs at Rugby School have been busy crafting warming, hearty, and nutritious dishes that highlight the best of British seasonal produce. With a focus on flavour, sustainability, and nourishment, these autumnal dishes showcase the vibrant ingredients that the season has to offer. Here’s a taste of what we’re serving this season: Leek Quiche – A savoury, golden-baked quiche filled with tender, caramelised leeks and a creamy custard, all encased in a flaky, buttery pastry. Miso Cabbage – Fresh cabbage, braised to perfection and infused with the rich, umami flavours of miso, offering a delicate balance of sweetness and earthiness. A true seasonal delight. Stalks and Stems Korean BBQ – An inventive, sustainability-focused dish that transforms stalks and stems into a smoky, spicy Korean BBQ-inspired treat. Flavourful, eco-conscious, and creative! Kimchi Cauliflower – Crispy, tangy cauliflower with a bold kick of spice, fermented in the classic kimchi style. A perfect balance of heat and probiotics, bringing the flavours of autumn to life. These wholesome dishes, carefully crafted by our talented chefs, not only nourish the body but also celebrate the richness of autumn’s bounty. #SustainableDining #AutumnHarvest #WholesomeFlavours

First impressions matter. As Open Days wrap up across our partner schools, we’re proud to have showcased the vital role that food plays in the pupil's school experience. At Chartwells Independent, we understand that mealtimes are more than just a particular moment in the day. Meals - be it breakfast, lunch or supper - are a crucial time for pupils to connect, learn social skills, and feel a part of a community. Through Open Day events, families had the opportunity to see first hand how our nutritious meals fuel both mind, body and soul. We’re grateful for the chance to show how quality food, specifically tailored to each clients needs, plays a pivotal role in a young person’s day-to-day experience. Each year, we're delighted to welcome new pupils into our school community and support their growth through delicious, nutritious food. Thank you to our teams for delivering exceptional experiences as always. #IndependentSchools #QualitySimpleDelicious #OpenDayReflections Bernice Blakeman Guy Kaye jenna dickerson Michael Nobbs
