"Entrepreneurial success often hinges on access to robust networks and mentorship. Women entrepreneurs, however, frequently encounter challenges in gaining entry to influential networks that are critical for scaling their businesses. Programs such as the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women provide mentorship and resources, enabling women to build connections, gain business acumen, and overcome structural barriers." We're pleased to see our programmes highlighted by World Economic Forum this week! This article not only showcases the importance of our work, but also why gender parity in entrepreneurship matters and how we can achieve it by: 1. Improving access to capital for women entrepreneurs 2. Expanding access to networks and mentorship programmes 3. Creating inclusive policies and regulatory frameworks 4. Enhancing training and digital literacy for women 5. Challenging cultural norms and biases #WEF25 #Davos #WEF #WomenEntrepreneurs #Entrepreneurship

About us
The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women works with women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries. We work together to enable women entrepreneurs to reach their potential. We are committed to eliminating the global gender gap in entrepreneurship and creating a future where women entrepreneurs thrive. Since our inception in 2008, we have supported more than 175,000 women to start and grow successful micro, small and medium-sized businesses in over 100 countries. Training, mentoring, networking, and collaboration are at the heart of our work, deploying technology innovatively to reach and connect with more women worldwide. Our approach opens doors for women entrepreneurs to networks, finance, new markets, investments and opportunities. As a result, women create a future for themselves, their families, and their communities. In turn, they contribute to more robust economies, global gender equality and a thriving entrepreneurial sector.

The lack of women leaders elected in last year's international elections was shocking and unacceptable, as was the global increase in threats of violence against women in the public eye. As political and business leaders from around the world prepare to meet in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, our founder, Cherie Blair CBE (Cherie Booth K.C.), has issued a rallying cry for women to have a greater presence in global politics. She claims this will lead to increased legal rights and economic growth. Read her thoughts, as well as insights from The World Bank, Oliver Wyman and Women Political Leaders (WPL) in this piece for Bloomberg. #Davos #WEF25 #WomenLeaders

It’s unacceptable that, in 2025, women are still significantly underrepresented in politics and, worldwide, have less than two-thirds of the legal rights of men, with not one single country yet achieving legal gender parity. This means a vastly unequal landscape for women in terms of rights and decision-making power. In order to advance women’s safety and economic participation, women must have an equal seat at the table. I was pleased to speak to Bloomberg this week, alongside the launch of The World Bank, Oliver Wyman Forum and Women Political Leaders (WPL)’s Representation Matters report, on why boosting women’s representation in governments is such an urgent endeavour.

Women have two-thirds of the legal rights available to men, earn 80% of what men do, and have far fewer opportunities to run for public office. But what if women had the same opportunities as men? 📣 In partnership with Women Political Leaders (WPL) and the World Bank’s Women, Business and the Law, we are excited to launch the 2025 Representation Matters report with new statistical analysis that shows countries that have more women in political offices typically pass more laws that increase women’s economic rights and opportunities, and that can lead to greater female labor force participation and economic growth. Our newly launched report builds on 2023’s inaugural study and includes findings from a robust University of Nebraska statistical analysis of Women, Business and the Law data, conducted on behalf of the Representation Matters program, with key metrics for 165+ countries. We offer short- and long-term recommendations as well as insights from female political leaders making a difference today. 🔗 Discover how women’s political representation can accelerate economic growth > https://owy.mn/4fUeStB #OWForum #RepresentationMatters #WomenInPolitics

Inspiration often comes in small doses, but for me, it arrived all at once. It was a privilege to host Cherie Blair CBE (Cherie Booth K.C.) Blair in an engaging and insightful conversation at FLO Chennai, delving into the transformative impact Cherie Blair Foundation for Women has achieved for women's empowerment across the world and how we can contextualize this in India. The discussions were truly inspiring, and we took the opportunity to launch two impactful initiatives aimed at empowering women and fostering financial independence at the grassroots. Through Chennai Volunteers and Giving Matters Foundation, we introduced Shakthi—a revolving fund designed to support women micro-entrepreneurs in deserving communities, enabling hundreds to scale up their small enterprises. We also launched Ek Prayaas, a financial literacy program to equip young women with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed financial decisions and become financially savvy. Thank you Divya Abhishek for partnering with us and Dhivya O'Connor, we look forward to creating more impact together. Link to the article in The Hindu: https://lnkd.in/grZGhtJi

"Healthcare is a human right, so supporting as many people as possible to access it is important to me. In the future, I’m hoping to expand into other areas of Guyana and even into the Caribbean. I want to impact more lives with my work." Dr. Hollina Alfred started her clinic after noticing a need for increased access to healthcare in her community. Now, not only is her business improving health and wellbeing in her area, it also has a charity arm that supports local people with food and educational necessities. Here, she shares how Road to Growth supported her to improve her marketing strategies and boost her business income so that she can support more people with her work: https://lnkd.in/eCGJkNtc #WomenEntrepreneurs #WomenInBusiness #Entrepreneur
