About us
Every 30 minutes, a child or young person will acquire a brain injury. This could be the result of an accident, an illness such as meningitis or encephalitis, a poisoning, a stroke or a brain tumour. A brain injury has a devastating and life-long impact on the child and their whole family. Bones can mend and scars can heal but a brain injury stays with you for life and impacts on everything you think, feel and do. Established in 1991, the Child Brain Injury Trust helps children, young people, their families and professionals to come to terms with what has happened and how to deal with the uncertainty that the future holds. Please take a look around our website for further information on any of our services. We provide information, support and training to anyone affected by childhood acquired brain injury. This includes the child or young person themselves, their family and the professionals who support them

Meet Phoebe 👋 After suffering a stroke after birth, Phoebe's family received critical support from our coordinators at Child Brain Injury Trust. 💜 Phoebe's mum, Laura, mentions 💬 "It was so exciting to meet someone who understood Phoebe, without that ... (it) would have been much harder for Phoebe. We didn't know what the future would hold but as soon as we got in touch with CBIT and started to learn about brain injury, it really changed our family life." Support children like Phoebe and their families this Giving Tuesday UK 💙 and donate to the Child Brain Injury Trust: https://lnkd.in/eHfgUkcd #GivingTuesday #CharityGiving #AcquiredBrainInjury #ChildBrainInjuryTrust #ChildBrainInjury #BrainInjuryAwareness #CharityFundraising

Child Brain Injury Trust reposted this
Yesterday I had the great pleasure of standing in front of a group of wonderful people to tell them why supporting the Child Brain Injury Trust is life changing for the families they help. It was terrifying and wonderful in equal measures. I am deeply honoured that I get to do things like this. This time last year I delivered my first speech to a much smaller group, piece of paper in hand, voice shaking. I've come a long way in a year but the nerves still remain. They remain because I care so deeply, because my passion for CBIT burns fiercely within me. This week I have given two speeches in two cities, I am so grateful to be given that opportunity. Thank you to JMW Solicitors LLP for arranging yesterday's amazing event and more importantly to all the people who gave up their Friday afternoon to support the charities. You all helped to bring hope to those that feel lost in the midst of childhood acquired brain injury, so once again thank you.
