Helping children and young people with cancer survive their cancer diagnosis

About us

We won’t stop until every child and young person survives cancer. Every day we strive to increase awareness and understanding of cancer in children and young people. We fund research: we’ve funded over 300 research projects leading to the development of better, kinder treatments and significantly contributing to survival rates which we’ve seen improve from 67% to 85.2%*. We support families: from ‘amazing days out’ to funding accommodation close to hospitals, we work with partners to ensure families have the emotional and financial support they need, allowing them to focus on what matters most – their child. We raise awareness: we shine a spotlight on childhood cancer to improve outcomes for thousands of children and young people across the UK. Thanks to our network of experts, we can educate families, the public and the scientific community. * Survival rates are based on 5-year survival. The 84% figure for 2017 is an estimated figure by the Office for National Statistics, exact figures will be known in 2023. Registered Charity Number: 298405

  • Diagnosed with cancer in 2017, Charlie (wearing the red hat) decided to tackle the London Marathon in 2018, despite facing his own health battles. Since then, he’s run every marathon except one, raising over £10,000 for Children with Cancer UK along the way. “Here I am 8 years later in remission from cancer, and feeling blessed and honoured that I am able to write this Christmas message to you. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus with the message of peace, hope and love. This is my message and my biggest wish for all those especially children, facing cancer through this festive season.” - @charliedegale2021, cancer survivor. Christmas is a time for reflection and gratitude, as Charlie so beautifully reminds us. Let’s carry his message of peace, hope, and love into the new year and beyond. https://bit.ly/3ZfnLrz

We then get into our Christmas pyjamas and get the milk cookies and carrots ready for Santa.” - Cara, Morven's mum. Morven was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma in the soft tissue of her left eyelid on 20 January 2020 when she was just 7 years old. Cara, Morven's mum shares their Christmas eve traditions.
