One special aspect of our events programme is our series of intimate music evenings. We feature award-winning musical talents, performing in an environment that allows guests to immerse themselves fully in the music. Earlier this year, we had the honour of hosting a performance by the rising star cellist, Willard Carter, accompanied by Tahe-Lee Liiv, in the beautiful home of two of our members. His recital captivated the audience. 🎵 Watch a brief clip from the evening to give just a taste of its magic. https://lnkd.in/e83JmxhF 🎵 Curious about what’s next? Everyone has a story to tell, whether inspired by their own life experiences or from the depths of their imagination. Age is no barrier to writing it down. To honour this, we are sharing books written by our own members, each reflecting their heritage, identity, or interests. This week, we are spotlighting "Thriving to 100" by member, Avivah Wittenberg-Cox 𝘈𝘷𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘩 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘤 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴, 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴. As part of our theme "Leaning into Longevity", we're pleased to highlight The Longevity Forum, a global movement spotlighting the science and lifestyle practices that contribute to a longer, healthier life. One fascinating topic that stood out was Blue Zones. These are five specific regions around the world, where people not only live longer, but thrive with vitality well into their later years. Dan Buettner, pioneering founder of Blue Zones, and Andrew J Scott, Director of Economics at EIT Oxford and Co-founder of The Longevity Forum, engaged in a compelling conversation where they discussed these zones and examined how we can incorporate Blue Zone principles into our lives. Interested? You can listen to their conversation here. https://lnkd.in/eMSbsmM5 #LongevityWeek #BlueZones #HealthAndWellness #HealthyLiving #LifelongVitality

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of hosting a special event with our art partner, BHL Art Group, at the characterful The Art Workers' Guild. The atmosphere was delightful—relaxed, informal, and intimate—setting the perfect tone for an engaging discussion. 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 Clarissa Levi (Vallat) and Tom Heaven delivered an insightful session on valuing your art collection and planning for its future. They highlighted the importance of leveraging UK Heritage Tax schemes and made a thought-provoking point: a “treasured piece” isn’t always a Picasso or Rembrandt—it could be a book or ornament with deep personal significance. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 Start the conversation early: Discuss the future of your collection with loved ones to avoid family disputes. The evening revealed interesting audience questions, and the positive feedback has been lovely. “A really informative event.” “Impeccable organisation and excellent content and network circle.” We’re looking forward to hosting more events with our Trusted Partners to share their expertise! #ArtCollection #HeritageTax #ArtsAndCulture #ShareCircleSquare

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a memorable book launch for Circle Square member Nick Sayers’s debut book,"The Jews of Lithuania". This intimate event was held at Nick’s home, where guests gathered to hear a thought-provoking conversation between Nick and Antony Lishak MBE. In the discussion, Nick shared his personal quest to understand more about his family background in eastern Europe and how it led him to dig deeply into many of the big questions about modern Jewish history in Lithuania. Our members left inspired and moved: “A highly stimulating and educational discussion.” “Fascinating talk and wonderful hospitality” “Difficult to see how it could be improved upon!” Congratulations, Nick, on this incredible achievement! #BookLaunch #History #Lithuania

To kick off this theme, we are delighted to introduce Circle Square member, Avivah Wittenberg-Cox, a global thought leader on longevity, and gender and generational balance. 📍 Avivah’s journey started in Canada, where she studied Computer Science and Comparative Literature at the University of Toronto. Next, a one-year stint in Paris became a 30-year adventure! During this time, she founded 20-first, a consultancy guiding organizations through the complexities of gender, generation, and culture. Now based in London, Avivah is a regular contributor to Forbes and Harvard Business Review, hosts the longevity-focused podcast 4-Quarter Lives, and publishes the Elderberries Substack. As we conclude our series on the theme "Age is No Barrier," we celebrate how individuals of all ages can accomplish remarkable work at any stage of life. Many of our members have inspired us by writing captivating books later in life. Each week, we’ll be highlighting a member's book. First up: "𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥" by John Bowers KC. In Downward Spiral, John presents a fearless examination of the decline in ethical standards before, during and after the Johnson government. He focuses on the institutions responsible for holding the government to account, exposing how they have been bypassed by prime ministers determined to impose their agenda.   Read more about John’s work here https://lnkd.in/eTgA5u4c Stay tuned each week to discover more inspiring reads by our members. #AgeIsNoBarrier

According to the recent ONS report published in October, we’re seeing some interesting demographic shifts. 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝟗𝟎+: In 2023, the population of those 90 years and older reached 551,758—showing an of 0.2% from 2022, on top of the 2.1% increase seen the previous year. 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞: There are now 14,850 centenarians in England and Wales, which is more than double the number recorded in 2002! Among them, 560 individuals are 105 years old or older. As longevity becomes more common, it prompts us to think: What should we consider as our society ages? Whether it’s healthcare, social support, or community engagement, preparing for a thriving aging population is essential. What are your thoughts on the impact of an aging population?  #AgingPopulation #Longevity #ONS #Demographics
