COP29 dubbed the "Finance COP" due to its focus on finance and establishment of new global climate finance targets, came to a finish over the weekend. Key outcomes of COP29 include: 💸 $100 billion target tripled to $300 billion to channel $1.3 trillion by 2035. 🏪 Carbon market operations have been finalised and are expected to be implemented in 2025. 📃 Negotiations were successfully made to build a stronger evidence base for transparent climate reporting. 🤝 Agreement on support for the least developed countries to carry out national adaptation plans. 🚻 Extension on advancing the programme for gender balance in the climate change fight. An afternoon full of inspiring students and teachers on how they can reduce single-use waste within their schools, and hearing about the student's thoughts on single-use.
