🎉 Kicking off the week with a win! 🎉 We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news! Working closely with our colleagues at Citizens Advice across Hertfordshire, we raised a shared concern about new Universal Credit claimants being unaware that they need to apply for Council Tax Reduction separately. After collaborative discussions with the DWP Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire district, we are delighted to announce that a new process is now in place! The Universal Credit Support Team will now ensure that claimants understand what Council Tax Reduction is and how to apply for it when making a new UC claim. This is a great step forward in ensuring no one misses out on essential support! #Collaboration #Teamwork #Support #UniversalCredit #CouncilTax #Hertfordshire #MakingADifference Citizens Advice Broxbourne Citizens Advice Dacorum Citizens Advice East Herts HERTSMERE CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU Citizens Advice North Hertfordshire Citizens Advice St Albans District Citizens Advice Stevenage CITIZENS ADVICE SERVICE IN THREE RIVERS Citizens Advice Watford Citizens Advice Welwyn Hatfield

🌟 Today, Helen and Christy from our Grants team visited Herts Young Homeless to see firsthand how their grant funding is making a difference! 💡 hyh plays a crucial role in preventing youth homelessness, offering a wide range of services—from prevention and early intervention to crisis support and independent living assistance. It's inspiring to see the impact of HCF grants helping young people in need. 👏 Thank you, hyh, for the incredible work you do! 🙌 #YouthHomelessness #CommunitySupport #GrantsInAction

The announcement has been made that Winter Fuel Payments will now only be made to Pensioners if they qualify for Income related Benefits – in most cases Pension Credits. Many people are eligible but do not currently receive them. This is how to find out if you can apply: 1️⃣ If your income is less than £218.51 per week for a single person or less than £332.95 for a couple then you can use the Pension Credit Calculator https://lnkd.in/eTauE6De to estimate how much you might be able to receive. 2️⃣ If you receive a Disability Benefit (Attendance Allowance, Personal Independence Payment or Disability Living Allowance) it is worth doing the calculation, as receipt of these benefits might mean that you qualify for Pension Credits, even if your income is slightly higher. If you meet the criteria above, applications can be made: 1️⃣ By visiting https://lnkd.in/dG3AgB-p 2️⃣ Over the phone by calling 0800 99 1234 (Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm) 3️⃣ By printing out and filling in a paper application form Otherwise, if you would like some help with this, please contact Diss, Thetford and District Citizens Advice, who would be happy to support you. ✅ Visit our Diss office during the opening hours shown here: https://lnkd.in/e_gsgZKb ✅ Visit our Thetford office during the opening hours shown here: https://lnkd.in/ed6BKpjj ✅ Call our Adviceline Service 08088127138 and request a call back from the Diss or Thetford office to help you with a Pension Credit check and Application. ✅ You can also visit “The Shelf” Community Supermarket at Diss, Monday 1.30-3.30, Thursday 10.30-12.30, Friday 12.00-2.30, leave your details and we will arrange a callback or appointment for you ✅ Or request advice using the form provided here: https://lnkd.in/e4nBxbgq
