What a wonderful and learning experience we had at the first Umbraco Developer Conference in Ahmedabad, India. Really thankful to ClerksWell for selecting Debasish Gracias, Rushita Bhakhar and me to attend this event. Some of the highlights were: 1) Networking and learning how others use the Umbraco products as well as addons such as Cloud, Engage and Search with Algolia. 2) Engaging sessions by Nikhil Prajapati, Asha Chaudhary and Milan Dudhatra. 3) Using AI to generate customized emails as well as content in the back office. 4) The pleasant climate and places in Ahmedabad. 5) The gracious hospitality by the hosts of the event GIRIRAJ DIGITAL | Umbraco Gold Partner 6) Not to forget, the cool swag sent over by Umbraco HQ.

🌳Had an insightful morning with Smart Energy GB at their panel event discussing the road to Net Zero. The conversation highlighted how marketing and communications will play a pivotal role in encouraging the UK population to adopt more sustainable behaviours. Some of my favourite thoughts from the panelists: Tom Knox :The term Net Zero can feel off-putting or overly technical to consumers, evoking a sense of “cutting back.” Instead, framing it as something that enhances our lives—adding benefits rather than taking away—can be far more effective. Mandy Sharp: Emotional messaging is key. While practical benefits are important, people are far more likely to act when emotionally motivated. Stories inspire action far better than statistics. Kate Waters: ITV's Love Island x eBay partnership is a great example of prioritising certain benefits over others to engage consumers. They focused on the attractiveness of the clothes and cost-saving rather than overt sustainability messaging. This creates a sense of norming the behaviour rather than framing it as a conscious ‘sustainable’ decision. While only part of my role involves working with SEGB on their online strategies, this discussion was a powerful reminder of how impactful marketing can be in driving meaningful change. Last week we hosted more than 100+ Umbraco partners and 200+ people for the yearly UK partner summit and Umbraco Hackathon together with Platinum Hugo & Cat (MRM—We're very grateful, Ben & Graeme, and Gareth. ) All I can say is that magic happens when you're a strong community, a large partner ecosystem, and a great visionary company. All together, that composite is the foundation for Umbraco to exist and grow. Whether you're a large FTSE100 enterprise (yes, a quarter of them use Umbraco!) or a small startup, Umbraco is for you, and you can grow with it. We grow with you. Thanks, to the Umbraco-team and especially Steffie for the detailing eye of organising, and Mike for the great atmosphere. And of course also Becky Willis for taking care of the afterparty, which ended Just After Midnight, unfortunately ;).
