ClimateCare and Natural Capital Partners formed Climate Impact Partners—a world-leading Carbon Market Group.
About us
For 25 years, Climate Impact Partners has delivered solutions for action on climate. We believe that carbon markets have a critical role to play in delivering action by putting a price on carbon and funding carbon reduction projects to meet our global climate goals. Climate Impact Partners builds on the expertise, integrity, and innovation of two companies that have led the voluntary carbon market – Natural Capital Partners and ClimateCare – in a merger arranged by Averna Capital. Fuelled by a relentless drive for rapid action and results, our global team continues to pioneer the market’s growth, and set the standards for quality that will maximise its impact. Together with the world’s leading companies and quality project partners we will cut 1 billion tonnes of CO2 to transform the global economy, improve health and livelihoods, and restore a thriving planet. We do this by delivering the highest quality carbon-financed projects, from which we create carbon credit and energy attribute certificate portfolios. This enables organizations to offset the emissions they can’t reduce, put a price on carbon to incentivize change, and meet their ambitious climate goals. We have been awarded Best Offset Retailer for the 12th time and Best Project Developer: Public Health for the 11th time in Environmental Finance’s Voluntary Carbon Market Awards. 📣 We are proud to have received a B score on our latest CDP disclosure, the highest score available to SMEs this year. Our team Alterra H., Carolyn Bacchus Stapleton, Adam Croley, Frederieke Barber, and Bita Carrico had meaningful conversations with peers, clients, and industry leaders about the challenges and opportunities ahead this week at GreenBiz 25. Here are three themes that stood out: 🌍 All Eyes on SBTi - the sustainability world is watching for updates to the net-zero standard. A shift in carbon credits could provide much-needed momentum for project developers. 🗣️ The Power of Clear Communication - sustainability leaders are refining their messaging, cutting the jargon, and speaking plainly - especially as scrutiny on corporate climate commitments intensifies. This was evidenced by sitting room-only spaces at many sessions related to effective communication, which you can see below.👇 💪 Steadfast in the Climate Fight - despite political and economic pressures, sustainability professionals remain committed to driving progress, even if speaking out feels risky. The conversations we’ve had this week reinforce the urgency of action and the importance of collaboration. How is your organization navigating these challenges, and how can we help? #GreenBiz25 #Sustainability #NetZero #carboncredits #ESG

Margaret Morales’ latest article in Trellis Group explains clearly why both carbon removal and carbon avoidance projects are critical in tackling the climate crisis. Margaret sets out the following 3 key reasons why buyers should consider both removals and avoidance projects: 🔹 There’s little evidence that carbon removals are consistently of higher quality than avoidance-based projects 🔹 Stopping emissions today has more climate benefits than removing emissions tomorrow. Many emission reduction opportunities are ready for wide implementation now while many removal opportunities will take decades to scale. 🔹 Opportunities to cut emissions abound. There’s no lack of low-cost, high-impact opportunities to cut emissions now. 🌳 Keeping the planet’s existing forests standing could reduce global annual emissions by some 15 percent and recapture over 500 billion tons of CO2 over time, as those forests mature. 🍳 Disseminating clean cookstoves could slash 2 percent of annual global emissions — nearly equivalent to decarbonizing the whole aviation industry. What’s missing is the funding. The planet needs between $2 trillion and $6 trillion in additional climate finance each year to align with a 1.5-degree Celsius warming scenario.
