Are you an inbox zero addict yet? Inbox zero is a time management philosophy that frees up your working day. It's been around for a long time, but it's often misunderstood. The goal is to spend less time in your inbox (it's not a to-do list!) and only handle each email once. There are five ways of dealing with an email there and then: 1. Delete or archive it. 2. Delegate it (then delete it). 3. Respond immediately 4. Defer the response (create a folder for these emails) 5. Do the task, then delete the email. It's not a perfect solution, but it aims to deal with the overwhelm that comes with the sheer number of emails we all receive daily. #timemanagement #ittips #inboxzero

I'm not sure why, but my blood instantly boils when when I hear techies misspell the company Ubiquiti Inc. as "Ubiquity" and also their UniFi range as "Unify" - I'm not sure how this is a thing but I see it at least a few times a month🤬 .... Everyone else have a great Monday! 😁 #Ubiquiti

We’ve seen a massive reduction in unauthorised access attempts among clients using multifactor authentication (MFA). Relying solely on passwords is incredibly risky. Passwords are vulnerable to brute force attacks and data breaches (and, more often than not, easy to guess!) Spoiler alert - your dog's name is not a strong password. 🐶 With multifactor authentication (MFA), your password is just one piece of the puzzle. It also relies on you knowing - or having - at least one other type of verification. It could be a code sent to your mobile or an authenticator app. It might even be a fingerprint scan. If you're serious about protecting your devices and data, ditch the password-only approach and opt for multi-factor authentication.

Your unpatched software is opening you up to attack 🥴⚠️ Criminals can exploit the gaps in your unpatched software to gain access to networks, steal data, and disrupt your operations. Regularly updating your software is crucial for maintaining a secure IT environment. Read more in our blog on 'Patch Management, Best Practice' (link in the comments 👇). ____________ TL;DR? Here's the key takeaway: 1. Set up a patch management schedule 2. Use a dedicated patch management tool 3. Test patches before deployment 4. Prioritise security patches 5. Ensure the patch is within scope #cybersecurity #patchmanagement #softwareupdates #itcompany

What is an MITM attack? Man-in-the-middle (MitM) is a type of cybersecurity attack that involves intercepting the transactions between a user and a web application. It’s the equivalent of listening to a conversation between two people without their knowledge. 🤫 The attacker then manipulates the conversation to steal sensitive information like login credentials and bank details. Securing your network using strong WPA3 encryption is one way of protecting your business from a MitM attack. #cybersecurity #encryption #cyberattack

Password hygiene is improving across the board, but one perennial problem still exists. And it looks likely to remain. We're talking about using the same passwords across multiple sites. 😱 Even users with password managers are reusing existing passwords. The legal sector has the highest share of password reuses, with energy and utilities not far behind, according to one study. It only takes one website to save your password in an unencrypted file to bring down your whole security posture. If your password is stolen from one website, your other accounts are open to attack. The moral of the story: Never reuse your password. 🔒 #password #passwordmanager #passwordsecurity . . . Thanks to Dashlane for these stats.

How to bag the best tech deals on Cyber Monday (2 Dec). 1. Create a list before the sale starts to save time on the day. This will make finding deals quicker and easier. 🗒️ ✍️ 2. Use price tracking tools like PriceSpy to ensure you get the best deal possible. 📈 3. If you can't find what you want from the brand or a big name like Amazon, check other places. It might be cheaper elsewhere. 🛒 4. Don't limit yourself to hardware. You can pick up some great deals on apps, software and digital subscriptions. 👩💻 5. Lean on AI (try BuyScout) to evaluate products and find the best deals. 📲 #cybermonday #techtips #techdeals
