  • 💡 Did You Know the Government Can Help You Reduce Employment Costs? Employing staff is one of the biggest expenses for SMEs, but there are Government-backed schemes designed to lighten the load. Here are two key areas of support every SME should know about: 👨👩👦 Family Leave Pay The Government helps cover statutory family leave payments, including Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption Pay. 👉 Most employers: Reclaim 92%–103% of these payments. 👉 Small employers (Class 1 NI liability ≤ £45,000/year): Reclaim 100%, plus an extra 3% for National Insurance contributions. 👉 Short on cash? You can request an advance from HMRC to cover payments when needed. 🏢 Apprenticeship Support Taking on apprentices is not only good for business growth—it also comes with funding and incentives: 👉 England: Claim an extra £1,000 for hiring young apprentices or those with additional needs. 👉 Wales: Receive £2,000 for taking on disabled apprentices (until March 2025). 👉 Non-levy-paying employers: Cover just 5% of training costs—the Government pays the rest.
