🌳 Join Our Journey to Renew the Amazon Rainforest! 🌳
Looking back at the incredible journey over the past years, the Future of the Amazon Foundation is thrilled to share the progress made in the Araribóia Indigenous Territory area of the North-Eastern Amazon Rainforest.
🌱 Project Kick-off: In a collaborative effort with the Guajajara indigenous peoples and Eden Reforestation Projects, we embarked on a mission to reforest 20,000 hectares of destroyed forests, addressing the critical issue of dieback.
🌿 Seeds of Change: The local communities actively collected tree seeds, and in just one and a half years, the project saw one million trees planted, benefiting biodiversity and the entire Amazon region's biotic pump.
🌍 Scaling Up: Building on this success, a letter of intent has been reached with the Guajajara leadership to plant sixteen million more trees. The program includes tools, solar pumps for tree nurseries, and a multi-functional center powered by solar panels.
💡 Carbon Credit Investment: To sustain this impactful initiative, we are working on a carbon credit project, aiming for 16-20 million additional trees in the coming years. Your support and donations are crucial to realising this vision! Visit our website for more information: https://lnkd.in/eva-CJq9
🌐 Mosaico Gurupi Gathering: The journey continues as we hope to collaborate with various Indigenous territories in the wider area to protect and regenerate their lands. This strategic effort aims to reinforce the biotic pump over the whole Amazon by reforesting large parts of the damaged forest in North East Brazil.
🙏 A Call to Action: As we strive to make a lasting impact, your support, whether through carbon credit investments, NGOs, or public donations, plays a crucial role in securing the future of the Amazon rainforest.
