This 5min video gives a good intro on how Airbus Aircraft uses 3D printing to reduce costs, increase productivity and build a stronger aeroplane 🛩️🛩️ What amazes me are: 💰💰 Airbus prints hundreds of plastic covers to organise their A350 electric wires. It takes 70% less time to make them and manufacturing cost reduces by 80%. 🍀🍀 Producing parts with 3D printing reduces 90% of metal wastes, as most of the unused metal powders will be reused for the next print. 🔩🔩 Airbus uses 3D printing for retro-fitting (i.e. replacing a part when an aeroplane is already in use). For example, Airbus needs to produce 100 such belt holders every year to service the existing crew, but the supplier is out of business. The tooling to produce these parts by injection moulding costs thousands of dollars and it will take weeks to produce. Instead, Airbus uses 3D printing to produce these parts: it took 2h to redesign the part and a week to produce all 100 parts needed. Like Curtis Carson and Peter Sander from Airbus said, “this is the start of the revolution of 3D printing in the aircraft industry. We have now discovered where we apply this technology, how to apply it and the benefits that it can bring to the aircraft as a whole.” 🔥🔥 A very exciting time and let’s do more 3D printing 🚀🚀 Airbus 3D Printing technology transformation underway: https://lnkd.in/eNZ7jFsd #3DPrinting #Aerospace #Aircraft #Airplane #Airbus #AdditiveManufacturing #ReduceCosts #RetroFitting #SpareParts #ReduceWaste #SustainableManufacturing #Manufacturing

Come and join us on a spectacular Roof Terrace for an AI themed Summer Drinks Reception on Thursday 4th July 6pm Steve Jobs once famously said: “There’s a temptation in our networked age to think that ideas can be developed by email and ichat. That’s crazy. Creativity comes from spontaneous meetings, from random discussions. You run into someone, you ask what they’re doing, you say “Wow,” and soon you’re cooking up all sorts of ideas.” Keeping this in mind, come and join CEOs, corporates, investors, and media, from across UK, Europe and America, for Summer drinks, canapés and an AI themed panel discussion on the Roof Terrace, with spectacular views across London, on Thursday 4th July 6pm Featured panellists: Orlando Machado Chief Data Officer, the LEGO Group Dr. Robin Tuluie, Founder and Co-CEO, PhysicsX Maryam Fayaz-Torshizi CEO, DeepSearch Labs Ronald Clark Associate Professor, University of Oxford Alex Kirkhope Partner & Head of AI Group, Shoosmiths (Moderator) Tickets and event schedule: https://lnkd.in/eQVe3wFc #AI #artificialintelligence #LLMs #innovation #technology #future

Shuyu and Ronald had a great time at London Venture Capital Network Summit last Saturday!! Check out some interesting takeaways from the event and many interesting people - investors, founders and professional services - they met at the event in this post 👇 👇 #investors #founders #LondonVCSummit #DeepTech #TechStartups #angelinvestors
What a wonderful event at London Venture Capital Network Summit!! I’ve learnt so much from a range of insightful talks / panels, including: 🚀 Lessons from an angel: how and why to angel invest - Moderated by the best tech journalist Mike Butcher ✍️ with 3 amazing angel investors: Juan Cabrera, Roxane Sanguinetti, Raj Kulasingam - Main takeaways: 🕯️For founders, talk to company executives in the industry you want to sell your product in. They are perfect angels. 🕯️Why do angels invest? 1) They like the founders. 2) They like their products. 🕯️A good way to approach an angel investor is to let them start as an advisor. 🚀 The opportunity of emerging economies - Moderated by Lewis Goode with 4 amazing panellists who have years of experience working and investing in emerging markets including middle east, africa and asia: Natalie Torin, Muhammad Malik, Shamik J Parekh. - Main takeaways: 🕯️Huge opportunities in B2C space. 🕯️Work with local talents and local operators. 🕯️Knowledge based innovations, which can easily transfer to a different market, have huge upside. Really want to highlights some of the amazing bunch of people I met during the event: 🌟 Martin Richter, Founder and CTO of a FinTech startup. 🌟 Deya Demerdzhieva 董徳雅, recruiter for tech startups, who speaks fluent Chinese and lived in China for 2 years. 🌟 Kingston Tagoe and Andre Hackett, Founders of School of New Africa - duolingo for kids in the UK with an African heritage to learn their home languages and culture. 🌟 Lenny Leemann, Founder of Greenspark - a marketplace for business to reach their social and environmental goals. And many other engaging, supportive conversations with Abshly Shaji, Hriday Tulsiani, Walé S, Rory Croome-Carroll, Mike Adams, Carlos Oba, MBA! What makes or breaks an event is the people there. You guys made my day and made this event the best one I’ve been to at #LondonTechWeek ❤️❤️ Finally, huge credits and thanks to the organisation team led by Dan Pandeni Idhenga! Can’t believe this is the first year you guys running this. The calibre of the speakers, the quality of execution, the venue and the attendees are all top notch. Looking forward to many of your future events! #LondonVC #Startups #VCLandscape #Networking #VentureCapital #AngelInvesting #Entrepreneurship #TechEcosystem #PitchCompetition #LVCN #DeepTech
