We are CodeNode — the UK’s hub for all things tech. Located in the heart of London, our multi-purpose venue offers the ideal location for conferences, large scale hackathons, bespoke exhibitions, and corporate meetups. Across CodeNode’s 23,000 sq ft you’ll find a main stage and five modern event rooms, a large breakout area with ping pong tables, foosball and sofas, and our very own fully stocked bar, fondly known as SpaceBar. Coupled with super fast wifi and more whiteboards than you can shake a pen at, CodeNode provides the ultimate environment for creativity and collaboration. Formerly home to Skills Matter, CodeNode has an impressive history of hosting events for startups, developer groups and global conferences. Trifork, an innovative software development company and an original cofounder of CodeNode, fully acquired the venue in early 2020. They’ve since helped further develop the space into a vibrant tech hub through new partnerships, a fresh lick of paint and an upgraded AV production studio to welcome the tech community back in 2021. Nurturing relationships, sharing knowledge and encouraging growth within the tech sector are all a part of our vision — a vision shared by the friends and partners we work with daily. Thank you to everyone who came to our Fellowship Programme event yesterday at the brilliant CodeNode London. It was amazing to see fellows old and new talking through the issues we all face, surrounded by posters of the stories we’ve told so far. Particular thanks go to Swarnali Mitra, and Clover Hogan who led our session on climate, Kené Umeasiegbu, Anna Morris (Bardini) and Naomi Duncan who spoke about our food systems, Alex Perkins and Aisha L. Who led the conversation around equality, Athena Peppes and Magdalena Getler who ran a session on technology and Amy Bone, Matt Downie MBE and Scott Morrison FRSA for talking through the incredible changes that are possible with collaboration. Thanks of course to the Forward Institute team for bringing it all together. It was a wonderful day, we’ll share more about it in the coming weeks, looking forward to the programme starting in earnest next year.

Data, German Beer, Insights and shared Knowledge 🍻 Hearing from - Meta - Google - Ocado - Wise banking - Financial Times Favourite two favourite talks of the day at #DSFoktoberfest has got to be Steen Rasmussen ‘what you know about customers will soon be wrong’ and Myrna Macgregor ‘Fail fast, Learn faster: building an experimentation culture at Ocado Technology. Take away points IIH Nordic - we are currently focusing on AI for marketers and businesses and not for consumers - amount of data available will reduce in the future with privacy and additional gatekeepers (including AI) - brands must build trust and reputation now ready for the future - focus on what won’t change in the next 10 years Ocado talk - Implemented Data Bets - 6 week sprints with a review at the end of each sprint Thank you Data Science Festival for a fantastic event and CodeNode London for a cool venue
