2025 will mark 20 years since Cokebusters was established, but we're proud that our founders have been serving #oilandgas clients since long before then! These archive photographs show the earliest model of a test loop which was developed in 1999 on the same former RAF site outside Chester where the UK Technology Centre resides today. Until the early 2000s, the majority of oil refinery furnace tubes were steam cleaned which was less effective at removing heavy coke and scale deposits. This method could loosen lighter deposits, but often failed to dislodge stubborn build up. It relied on the flow of high-temperature steam, which often didn't uniformly reach or clean all areas of long, complex or narrow furnace tube geometries. Prolonged exposure to high-pressure, high-temperature steam also contributed to tube wall thinning, especially if corrosion was present. The founders of Cokebusters knew there was a better solution and even before the company was officially formed, they were working in the field of #mechanicalcleaning to deliver an alternative service option to the #energyindustry. With Christmas just around the corner, ten members of the Cokebusters USA team constructed a garden play set complete with roof canopy, slide and swings for Danya Dudin, a 10 year old girl battling an aggressive brain cancer. The project was coordinated by Workshop Manager Scott Wilkins in support of the Roc Solid Foundation. With a massive number of individual pieces to assemble, everyone had their part to play in the build which took over 6 hours to complete.  It was a great team building exercise, which will have a positive and lasting impact on Danya's family. Scotty reported: "The weather was cold and quite windy, but it didn't dampen the spirit of the day. Little Danya was very keen to help with every phase of the build in order to expedite her chances of riding the slide, which I believe was her favorite part of entire play set! There were smiles and laughter mixed with a few tears throughout the day. The lasses and lads who participated worked hand in hand with absolutely no regard for skillset or natural ability! It was a total team effort and a win for the soul in my opinion." Danya's father is from Palestine and her mother is from "the bread basket of America", Iowa. They were both thrilled to see their little girl enjoying her very own play set at home. Danya is currently receiving good feedback from her specialists and everyone at Cokebusters wishes her and her family a Happy Christmas and only good things for 2025! #volunteering #investincommunity #givingback
