Collett have successfully completed all deliveries to Limekiln wind farm! Over the course of the project, our team transported 216 components to site. Once fully constructed, the wind farm will feature twenty four V136 Vestas wind turbines. 🌍⚡ The project commenced with components arriving at Scrabster Harbour in the Scottish Highlands. Over the period of five months, our team strategically transported them using our specialised Collett fleet and equipment. Key components included 67 metre long vestas blades, transported on Nooteboom Super Wing Carrier trailers and 74 Tonne base tower sections, transported utilising our new Nooteboom clamp trailer. A notable road modification included widening a sharp bend near the port ensuring safe passage of the oversized components. 🚛 Our Consulting Team carried out thorough swept path analysis, route assessments and test runs, while our skilled drivers and escorts ensured a precise and efficient delivery. 🗺️🚦 A huge thanks to our entire team in making this project a success! 👏💪 #ExpertsInMotion #RenewableEnergy #TransportSolutions #HeavyHaulage #WindTurbines #BladeTransport #SpecialistTransport

#ThrowbackThursday to 2018 when we took on the challenge of delivering 13 steel props and trusses for the Leicester Square Hotel construction project in the heart of London! 🚛🌟 The project involved transporting 13 loads fabricated by Allerton Steel Ltd Steel, including seven 11 Tonne steel props (19m long) and six 63 Tonne trusses (20.5m long), to one of the busiest areas of the capital. With narrow streets and restricted access around Leicester Square, meticulous planning was essential. Our team carried out detailed route studies and worked closely with multiple authorities, including Transport for London, The Royal Parks, and the Metropolitan Police. This included securing approval to use The Mall for access, enabling us to navigate iconic areas like Admiralty Arch and Trafalgar Square. 🚦 From suspending parking bays to temporarily removing street furniture, every detail was managed to perfection. Over seven days, we successfully delivered all 13 cargoes on schedule, overcoming the challenges of West End traffic and strict curfews.
