I am honoured to speak at the Commodity Trading Week APAC couple of weeks back. Glad that the Commodity Sustainability Forum is still ongoing in Commodity Trading Week APAC this year as we touched on a nascent technology Carbon Capture Storage and Utilisation (CCUS) and its place in energy transition planning. The Science Based Targets initiative places "neutralisation of unabated emissions" towards the end of the spectrum after short and long term abatement efforts but that did not hinder the discussion of the development of CCUS and the possible usage of CO2 as a feedstock for the chemical industry and the development of new markets from this circularity strategy.
