This time last week, the Commonwealth Sport GAPS camp in Mauritius came to an end. With 21 countries and over 50 participants from across the Commonwealth, the camp was a powerful platform for freedom, connection and growth: We’re excited to see how these athletes and coaches continue their journeys in the future!

Para athletes and coaches from all six regions of the Commonwealth in the sport of Para Athletics joined together for an intense week of training, competition, and personal development hosted by Commonwealth Games Mauritius and supported by Stellenbosch University, UK Sport, and WADA Africa. In solemn remembrance, the Commonwealth Games Federation today joins together with the 74 nations and territories of the Commonwealth Sport Movement to commemorate those armed forces members who have died in battle. Lest we forget.

Over the next 10 days, 51 Para-athletes and coaches from 21 Commonwealth nations and territories will come together in Mauritius for the Commonwealth Sport Global GAPS camp. This development and inclusion pathway programme is designed to provide them with skills, knowledge, and resources that aid their personal development and training as they prepare for competition. Welcome to the new Independent Member of the Commonwealth Sport Development Committee, Bishakha Mukherjee: “I believe very strongly in the power of the Commonwealth Games which is perhaps the most visible manifestation of the Commonwealth. It can be a powerful instrument for development and peace; as an enabler of national development objectives and the UN Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda - where progress to date is alarmingly insufficient. I am excited to be part of the Development Committee.”

The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS), in partnership with the Commonwealth Games Federation, launched the RCS Commonwealth Clean Oceans Plastics Campaign in Samoa during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Updates from Glasgow 2026! George Black, the newly appointed Chair of Glasgow 2026 shared his vision: “Glasgow 2026 is a critical moment in the Commonwealth Games journey. It is a chance to set a blueprint for what is possible in future Games and to think differently. My focus will be to ensure that we deliver the very best experience for our Athletes and fans, all within the timeframe and budget.
