According to a recent IRN Legal Report, the UK’s Wills, probate, and trusts market, valued at £2.81 billion in 2024, has grown by 7% compared to the previous year. This growth is driven by rising demand for estate planning services, underpinned by key demographic trends, including the increasing proportion of individuals aged 65 and older. Advancements in digitalisation are also transforming the sector, streamlining processes, and improving service efficiency 📈 #AgingPopulation #EstatePlanning #Wills

The rise in Will disputes in England and Wales, with over 10,000 cases annually and a 5% increase in contested claims reported between 2023 and 2024, highlights the critical need for proactive estate planning ✅ The increase is driven by factors such as the growing wealth transfer, evolving family dynamics, financial pressures, and challenges surrounding Will validity, particularly due to aging populations and conditions like dementia. Regularly updating your Will is essential to ensure your wishes are honoured and to help prevent costly and stressful disputes for your loved ones. #EstatePlanning #Wills #Legacy

A Will written on two pieces of cardboard previously used as food packaging has been admitted to probate, after the England and Wales High Court (EWHC) decided there was no evidence that the second, unsigned, piece was not present when the first was signed. Two neighbours who had been asked by the deceased to witness his signature only remembered seeing one of the pieces of cardboard. However, the EWHC ruled this did not rebut the presumption that the deceased clearly intended the two pages to be his Will 📜 #LegalNews #EWHC #Wills
