Originally built in the 1960s, the M6 River Dane Bridge experienced corrosion due to water ingress and weathering, necessitating crucial repairs to its columns and beams. Our team at CRL delivered sustainable, efficient solutions by leveraging advanced technologies, streamlining our supply chain, and working closely with National Highways. Thanks to productivity enhancements, we successfully lifted an abnormal load restriction five months ahead of schedule, reducing disruption on the busy M6 Motorway. Over the past three decades, many concrete-framed multi-storey car parks were allowed to deteriorate due to limited awareness among clients, consultants, and surveyors about the effects of de-icing salts on their structures. I’m pleased to see that this perspective is now shifting, with clients increasingly recognizing that regular inspections, maintenance, and timely repairs can significantly extend the life and condition of their assets. With proactive care, these structures can remain in excellent condition for years to come …
