About us
The Considerate Constructors Scheme works with the construction industry and the public to raise standards and build trust in construction. We are a not-for-profit, independently managed organisation. To help constructors improve their behaviours, we have created the Code of Considerate Practice which focuses on three key areas: Respecting the community; Caring for the environment; Valuing the workforce. Those registered with us make a commitment to conform to the Code and work to raise their standards above and beyond it. Whether you are a member of the public with a concern about construction activity, a contractor or supplier wanting to register your construction activity to raise your standards, or a construction client who would like your projects to register with us, we are here to help. Construction sites, companies and suppliers voluntarily register with the Scheme and agree to abide by the Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements. The Scheme's main areas of concern fall into three categories: the general public, the workforce and the environment. Visit our website to find out more or email enquiries@ccscheme.org.uk

Mia Lister, Assistant QS at Kier Construction, never imagined she’d find her path in construction—until she discovered degree apprenticeships while browsing the Government website. Now, in a 5.5-year programme, Mia’s gaining a degree and valuable hands-on experience, proving that apprenticeships are a powerful career route. This National Apprenticeship Week, Mia’s journey reminds us that apprenticeships offer real opportunities to learn, grow, and lead, without the traditional university route. #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #Apprenticeships #CareerGrowth #DegreeApprenticeship #FutureLeaders

It’s National Apprenticeship Week! 🔧 With 82% of construction businesses struggling to recruit and nearly a quarter of workers over 50, the industry faces a major skills gap. We need 937,000 new recruits over the next decade. Apprenticeships are key to solving this crisis, providing hands-on training, addressing skill shortages, and opening doors for young talent. But we need more flexibility, better incentives, and stronger outreach to attract the 24,000 apprentices required each year. It’s time to champion apprenticeships and inspire the next generation to build the future! #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #FutureBuilders #ConstructionCareers #SkillsForLife

Yesterday, Group CEO Amit O. launched a vital campaign on GB News, demanding urgent action to tackle the mental health crisis in construction. Two workers a day are dying by suicide. If The Labour Party wants to get Britain building again, we must act now. We’ve transformed physical safety in construction, now let’s do the same for mental health. Explore the solutions and support available at the CCS Best Practice Hub (link in comments). The Lighthouse Charity, Mates in Mind #construction #building #suicideprevention #mentalhealth
