Being named as a finalist at the MPA Health and Safety Awards 2024 was an honour. We are proud of the work we did at Maxi Readymix Concrete with our Walter Washout RD3maX installation.   The system resulted in a considerable difference to the health and safety of the team. The site staff no longer need to enter the mixer for cleaning, which was previously a daily occurrence. It has also eliminated one-to-two hours of maintenance with vibratory hand tools, and a monthly deep clean. CONCRETE LANDMARK🧑🏻💼🪨📆 🇬🇧: ConSpare Ltd, a leading UK supplier of concrete batching plant equipment and spare parts, recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of its CEO, James Bullock. It is a major milestone for the family business based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.   Initially joining the company as a sales administrator in 1984, James later took over from his father, Jim Bullock, as managing director in 1995. Having held the position for 28 years, James led the company to a record-breaking £10 million turnover in his final year as MD before transitioning to CEO in 2023.   As a longstanding contributor to and expert within the industry, James has been an active member of the Materials Handling Engineers Association (MHEA) executive committee since 2015 and has been president of the Association for the last two years.   In celebration of the significant anniversary, James reflects on four decades of hard work, the changes he’s observed within the business and the concrete industry, and the trends that will impact the future of concrete batching plants around the UK.   James said: “Celebrating 40 years at ConSpare is quite a surreal moment for me, I can’t quite believe I’ve been working here for over four decades. At ConSpare our mixer spares department has always been passionate about bolts! Our range of thousands of different mixing blades each requires a particular set of fixing components. We want each blade to come with the ideal fixings every time for the convenience of our customers, especially when you consider that the correct fixings can be difficult, time-consuming or even impossible to source in the UK. A nice example of the lengths we’ll go to can be seen below, this is our brand new range of low-profile hammerhead bolts, which are a perfect fit in a few of our popular blades.
