Hearing loops dramatically improve hearing performance in public spaces. This was the finding from research shared in The Hearing Review which looked at the impact of hearing loops in real-world scenarios. The intelligibility of words to listeners with hearing devices was tested in settings such as airport baggage claims, an historic chapel and a city hall, using both a hearing loop and the hearing aid microphones. The difference hearing loops made to the number of words detected and the number correctly understood, is considerable.
