Inside The STRABAG Art Collection. An Interview with Sebastian Haselsteiner ✨ This autumn, our Editor-in-Chief, Sylwia Krason had the opportunity to visit the Strabag Art Collection in Vienna and experience a private tour led by Sebastian himself. She was truly moved by his story of how a passion for art, first sparked by his father, has been passed down through generations. Inspired by this remarkable family legacy and Sebastian's unique perspective, we decided to dig deeper. The result? A compelling conversation between Sebastian and our writer Aleks Mainka about the Strabag Kunstforum and the STRABAG Art Collection founded exactly 40 years ago. 👉 Read the full story in our Weekly Online Magazine and uncover the secrets of this extraordinary art collection. About us
Contemporary Lynx is an arts organisation launched in January 2013 by art historians Dobromiła Błaszczyk and Sylwia Krasoń, registered in the UK with the offices in London and Warsaw. In 2013 Contemporary Lynx was created as a platform to encourage an appreciation and understanding of Polish contemporary art by a wide audience. Since then, our organisation has grown and evolved. Today, our core activity is publishing two art magazines: Contemporary Lynx Weekly - an online magazine with a focus on Polish and Central European art; Contemporary Lynx Magazine in print with a curated content on the latest trends in the international visual arts, design, photography and collecting. Our publishing activity is complemented by a rich and ongoing programme of art events (discussion panels, networkings, workshops) organised in collaboration with partners in various locations in Europe.

The Chinese Absolute Factory — on Andrzej Wasilewski at the Boxes Art Museum. 🎨 Do you find reality ambiguous and contradictory? Perhaps it’s because reality is inherently fluid and interconnected. When we try to impose order—cognitively or ethically—it often resists, setting traps, using irony, or mocking us. Many struggle to accept this, drifting into idealism, apathy, or despair. But a rare few, like Andrzej Wasilewski, embrace it intellectually and aesthetically. Influenced by masters like William S. Burroughs and Karel Čapek, Wasilewski practiced his art—grappling with doubt and frustration—while living in Poland. ✨ His exhibition The Absolute Factory, shown at the Boxes Art Museum in Foshan, China, explores humanity’s self-destructive tendencies, woven into our DNA. ✨ A dance with history. “Villa Polonez” exhibition at the Institut Polonais de Paris. Last Friday saw the opening of the "Villa Polonez" exhibition organised as part of Paris Photo and Photo Days. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the opening. 📸 "Villa Polonez", an exhibition that redefines heritage through the rhythm of a dance – the polonaise. This stately historical dance, symbolising Polish identity and cultural continuity, is a metaphor for slow yet inevitable change. Through contemporary Polish photography, the exhibit captures spaces once celebrated for their prestige and grandeur, now navigating profound physical and symbolic transformations. 📆 Dates: until 15th December 📍 Where: Polish Institute of Paris Check out the photostory from the event to relive the experience of the rhythm of “Villa Polonez.” More: https://bit.ly/48YCyvi Joanna Wajda Photo by Mona Mil Photography

✨ Adrian Ghenie and Egon Schiele a dialogue at the Albertina Museum Romanian artist Adrian Ghenie pays homage to Egon Schiele, not from a philological point of view, artistically speaking, but by adopting the lens of the interest and obsession that Austrian painter had with the image and the way he transformed himself into an image, stylizing himself into a kind of mark on paper by contorting his body, blurring his gender identity and slipping into new identity with paint and pencil. For Ghenie, this dialogue with Schiele is a starting point to reflect on contemporary image culture and its spectacularization.
