Ella was just 23 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer during a routine check. She wants to use her voice to ensure all young people know that breast cancer can affect them too. "When I got diagnosed I couldn't feel a lump or anything. It was just through the luck of having the scan that I found out, otherwise I might not have known until much later. It's terrible luck that I have Li-Fraumeni Syndrome, but it also saved my life. There's a misconception that only older people and children get cancer. The in-between stage from late teens to late thirties is completely missed and there's a whole generation that doesn't check. I want women who are younger to be checking themselves, I want men to be checking themselves, I want everyone to be aware of what their body feels and looks like, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves." Thank you so much to Ella, who shared her story this year as part of our Asda Tickled Pink 'Unpacking Breast Cancer' campaign this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It's #TransAwarenessWeek. Breast cancer can affect people of any age or gender, so it's really important to check your chest monthly. If gender dysphoria is making this difficult, you could try different methods, positions or settings, like checking without a mirror, beneath loose clothing or on days when you feel less dysphoric. Head to our website to explore our resources for trans and non-binary people: https://lnkd.in/edFMee_p 🏳️⚧️💛

What a night! ✨ We are still pinching ourselves that just one week ago, the 2024 annual Asda Tickled Pink Ball raised a whopping £1.45 million 👏 We're so grateful to the generous suppliers and Asda colleagues who helped make it a record-breaking evening raising vital funds for CoppaFeel! and Breast Cancer Now. A big thanks to keynote speaker Donna Fraser OBE for sharing her personal experience and to our host, the fabulous Ellie Taylor. Thank you also to McFly for making the party vibes 'all about boobs' and to RPJ for keeping the energy high! The money raised from this event will fund treatments, education and support. Together, we're putting breast cancer awareness on everyone’s list 🩷

"Just over a year ago, I found a lump when I was rearranging my bra. When I noticed this change to my chest, I immediately booked an appointment with a GP to get it checked out and they fast-tracked me to a breast clinic where I had a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. Within a week, I was diagnosed with triple-positive breast cancer. Before my diagnosis, my knowledge of breast cancer was extremely limited. I had no family history, all I knew was that I needed to get my lump checked out. I noticed it by total chance but luckily it was in the early stages so I’m really glad I got it checked out as soon as I noticed something was different. I would like to use this moment to tell other young people to check their chests regularly, and if you’re currently not, then to start now." - Brodie CoppaFeel!'s Self Checkout supports you in making chest checking a regular part of your routine.
