We've been supporting Road Safety Week this week.🚦🛑 Driving dangerously can put our employees working on the road at risk. Mark explains what it can feel like working in close proximity to vehicles passing by at roadwork sites. Please be vigilant and take extra care when driving through roadworks. We need our Cormac teams to make it #HomeSafeAndWell to their families every day. #RoadSafetyMatters #RespectRoadWorkers #DriveWithCare #RoadSafetyWeek

Learning about road safety can help prevent accidents and keep people safe.🚸🧒 Everyone has a responsibility to look after themselves and others when out on the roads, whether you’re a driver, a pedestrian or a road worker. Every year, Brake, the road safety charity spreads awareness about how we can all help minimise incidents out on the roads. 🚗 This year, Corserv Facilities and CORMAC invited local schools to Camborne Rugby Ground for the children to learn about our school crossing patrollers, the importance of wearing high visibility clothing and how everyone can be a Road Safety Hero. The children had a chance to dress up as a school crossing patroller (lollipop person) followed by a workshop on safe crossings, with an exciting opportunity to sit in one of our new gritters ‘Gritchard Trevithick’! ❄️ We handed out a Road Safety Device to each student, these are high-vis keychains made using recycled Cormac PPE and designed to attach to clothing to keep pedestrians visible to road users. We were delighted to also welcome Simon Ashby representing the Corserv Board and Cornwall Council Fleet Manager Chris Bell to the event. We would like to thank everyone involved, particularly the students for their excellent behaviour and engagement with the session, it was a good day for us all! #RoadSafety #CommunityEngagement #SchoolCrossing #RoadSafetyHero #RoadSafetyAwareness #ChildSafety #HighVisibility

CORMAC's Gritchard Trevithick went home for Brake, the road safety charity road safety week. Today, I had the pleasure of attending a fantastic road safety event organized by the talented Corserv Solutions Ltd fleet compliance team. It was inspiring to see them sharing valuable information and advice with local primary school children to help keep them safe on Cornwall's roads. The children seemed to have a great time, especially when they got the chance to sit in a real lorry and honk the horn! #RoadSafetyWeek #RoadSafety #ChildrensSafety #Corserv #FleetCompliance #CommunityEngagement

'A very successful event!' Networking skills and building confidence is essential for students to explore their career pathways. This week, Cormac's Resourcing Partner Lynne attended the Business Breakfast Networking event at Newquay Treviglas Academy last week to talk to the students about their futures and the fantastic career and learning opportunities Cormac offer, from work experience to apprenticeships, volunteering and more. The purpose of this event was to facilitate interactions between local businesses, employers, and students in Years 11, 12, and 13. During the sessions, Lynne assisted the students by engaging in conversations with them to understand their career and employment requirements. These events not only inform young people of the opportunities out there, but also enhances their people skills and gives them confidence to know what questions to ask potential employers. If you know a student who would be interested in our award-winning learning and career opportunities, find out more here https://ow.ly/QnmS50Ua03q #Cormac #Careers #CornwallCareers #Learning #WorkExperience #Apprenticeship #StudentNetworking #BuildingConfidence

Last week we attended the Yep! Event at New County Hall. The Yep! programme is for young people aged 16 to 24 years living in Cornwall who are not in education. The day was an amazing opportunity for YEP! participants to take part in a fun, interesting and informative introduction to working life with Cornwall Council and Cormac. The day commenced with a welcoming talk from the YEP! partners from Cornwall Council. Participants were then given a tour of Cornwall Council where they saw various roles within the organisation and also spoke to our Recruitment team regarding roles and employment opportunities within Cormac. #CareerOpportunity #CornwallJobs #SkillDevelopment #NowHiring
