After a successful first workshop, we’re excited to announce the next three sustainability topics, chosen by our members. Sign up for all three sessions if you want to. Additionally, there are 10 spaces for businesses to work with the University of Exeter on developing a customised Carbon Footprint assessment (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) and an accompanying Decarbonisation Plan. We had a fantastic night at the Cornwall Tourism Awards (South West Tourism Awards) at Truro Cathedral, celebrating the passion and dedication of Cornish tourism. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners. It was a successful evening for CATA members, who took home seven awards across the categories! Congratulations to Paradise Park, Shipwreck Treasure Museum, Lappa Valley, Minack Theatre, PK Porthcurno Museum of Global Communications, Screech Owl Sanctuary, and National Trust Trengwainton for their achievements! It was also an honour to represent CATA and present the New Tourism Award to Tom’s Farm—congratulations to the team on a well-deserved win. #CornwallTA

Excellent opportunity at Newquay Zoo for a Marketing Exec, working with animals and a great team.

We’re saddened to hear about the closure of another beloved Cornish attraction, Flambards. Until recently, Flambards were longstanding members of CATA, and we had the pleasure of working with their fantastic team; our thoughts are with them during this challenging time. This year has been especially tough for Cornish tourism, impacted by both unfavourable weather and economic pressures. At CATA, we’re committed to supporting our members through collaboration, amplifying their voices, and creating shared marketing opportunities to help navigate these uncertain times together. Yesterday we celebrated 50 years of the Cornwall Association of Tourist Attractions at the National Trust Trelissick. We heard tales from past chairs, members that have been there since the beginning, and we welcomed guest speaker Richard Toomer who gave us an update how the Tourism Alliance is lobbying our new govement. We ended the day with the planting an Evergreen Camellia in the gardens. Thank you to everyone that came along to support the event, we’ll update with more photos soon.
