This week marked my third year braving the winter chill of Helsinki, and heading to Slush—and once again, it didn’t disappoint.
As I wait to board the plane back to the UK, I’ve been reflecting on my time here.
As a tech start-up founder, I’ve realised that events like Slush are more than just calendar highlights—they’re essential.
It’s not just about the scale (though with thousands of attendees, countless events, and stages buzzing with ideas, it’s impossible to ignore), they say Slush is the largest gathering of VCs, startup founders and operators on the planet—and it’s tough to argue otherwise!
What truly makes Slush special is the chance to immerse yourself in a global community that gets it.
I’ve found it inspiring to share space with ambitious founders, forward-thinking investors, and innovators—all driven to create something different and bold, taking the significant risk to build companies with vision and purpose.
One of my biggest takeaways this year? Adaptability is everything. The most successful people embrace change, stay flexible, and evolve quickly. A reminder that resilience is the foundation of success in this space.
Being invited by Cornwall Trade & Investment to showcase Amutri as part of their trade mission has been incredible. It’s been amazing to see the depth of talent coming out of Cornwall and share insights with other local founders.
This experience has reminded me: no matter where we begin, the world is full of opportunities for those committed to growth and impact.
A huge thank you to the Slush team for hosting such a phenomenal event and to everyone I had the chance to meet this year. I leave inspired, energised, and more determined than ever to drive Amutri’s vision forward.
