Can Urban Innovation Districts create and spread prosperity? 💡 We recently hosted a roundtable event in partnership with the International Public Policy Observatory (IPPO). We brought together academics, representatives from national and local government and other stakeholders to discuss the IPPO’s new report, Growth Beacons - How Urban Innovation Districts Can Create and Spread Prosperity, written by Geoff Mulgan, Jeremy Williams, and Hope McGee. The report: 📈 makes the case for Innovations Districts, highlighting the key role they can play in facilitating economic growth, while sharing their benefits broadly with local people 🏛️ looks at what national and local governments can do to help them succeed both economically and socially The event was led by the Centre for Public Policy’s Senior Lecturer Dr Claire MacRae and Senior Fellow Dr David Waite, in partnership with the IPPO and with a presentation on the report from co-author Jeremy Williams. Thank you to all our speakers and attendees who joined us for this valuable discussion.
