Artist Call Out: East London Creative Communities "East London Creative Communities", is a new training programme from the East London Creative People and Places Network and Art School Plus. This is an exciting new collaboration between Colours of Redbridge, Creative Barking and Dagenham, Culture Within Newham, and Havering Changing, with funding from Arts Council England and supported by Whitechapel Gallery. This February, 10 artists from Redbridge, Newham, Barking & Dagenham, and Havering will join a bespoke week-long programme focused on community-led and co-creation projects. Led by Art School Plus, the training will equip you with skills to deliver creative projects in public spaces. Afterward, you’ll work with your local team to create artwork or activities for your community between March and December 2025. This is a brilliant chance to develop your skills and make a difference in East London. Copyright Elsa Pearl Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eE3KdRNw
Creative BasildON
Community Services
Dedicated to facilitating our community to choose, create & take part in art experiences in the Basildon Borough.
About us
BasildON Creative People & Places is one of 39 CPP projects across England funded by the Arts Council via the National Lottery to transform access to arts & culture in places where engagement is significantly below the national average. In April 2022, we were awarded further Arts Council funding to take our work up to March 2025 and became part of its National Portfolio. We will redefine what culture means to the people of Basildon, celebrating and valuing all its residents and cultures. Together, we will create a place that champions people to embrace and value their creativity individually and collectively; a place that believes that there is no “right” way to get creative. Simply put, the Basildon CPP isn’t there to ‘give residents a voice,’ or ‘help them write their score’, it’s merely there to plug in the sound equipment and run the soundcheck, empowering residents to make a stronger, louder and braver sound than ever before.

Check out the reel below promoting our 2nd November event with the Care Contractors - MAINTENANCE ACTS: SHORT FILM NIGHT A free evening of short films about the maintenance, care and repair of public art and public space. Featuring films that celenrate the public realm pieces in Basildon, including conversations with the artists and conservators who have taken care of them. Each of the films portrays a different model of how maintenance is performed: physical acts of cleaning and repairing; political acts of advocacy and campaigning; and spiritual acts of blessing and memorial. What from all of these approaches can encourage collective motivation to look after our surroundings ? The event will also include a Q & A session with the Care Contractors Art Collective members, and a chance to socialise and chat with friends! https://lnkd.in/eYwgjium to book your FREE ticket Please share with anyone you think may be interested!
