📣 Exciting news for the West Midlands! We are beyond excited to see the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), part of UK Research and Innovation, has awarded a groundbreaking £6.75m to the West Midlands to transform the region into a global hub for creative businesses.   Through the CreaTech Frontiers consortium, we're building a network of research and development labs to boost growth, attract investment, and foster innovation. 🌟 Led by Birmingham City University, in partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company and three Midlands universities - including Coventry University, the University of Birmingham and the University of Warwick, this 5-year initiative solidifies the West Midlands as a leading creative industries cluster. We had a fantastic time at Birmingham Tech Week, including representing Esports and our world-class centre in a panel discussion with our President of Warwick Esports, Vic Reile, Esports Centre Assistant, Suket Arya and our Associate Director, Clare Green. Councillor Ian Courts also made an exciting announcement that the 2025 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) will host its first arena event of the year in Solihull next year (27 to 30 March 2025). To host the event, Solihull Council is working in partnership with BLAST, the British Esports Federation, NEC Group, West Midlands Growth Company and the University of Warwick. We're really looking forward to seeing our region further embrace Esports and CreaTech more widely, and we're ready to help lead the way! Sensory Stroll is now open in Christchurch Gardens!! 🎉 ✂️ 🎈 Last week we officially cut the ribbon and launched our collaborative community project with our creative partners Pickle Illustration. Aimed towards bringing young people closer to their senses and wellbeing in green spaces, with QR codes helping to explore all the wonders surrounding busy minds 📱☀️ This project wouldn't have been possible without the support of the Friends of Christchurch and Warwick District Council.
