  • We have had a lovely couple of hours this afternoon decorating our tree in the York Minster Christmas tree Festival. The theme of our tree is Community Support, showcasing the fundraising we have been doing for our chosen office charities Martin House Children's Hospice York Mind and York Against Cancer. Our decorated tree is in the centre circle in Chapter House in York Minster, do take a look when you are visiting the festival and if you like what you see, please scan the QR code on the sign next to our tree and choose us as the best 🎄😃🎄😊🎄😃 #CommunityFocus

  • #SUPERNetworking #BusinessAdvice #Collaboration A great event today in the Launchpad room York St John University with Carolyn Frank from the FSB and James Hilton-Scott from Ian Walker & Co, as part of York Business Festival. Richard Wrightson and Elizabeth Sugden from our team, alongside James, answered questions about business structure, what happens if you fall out with your business partners, commercial property lease v commercial property purchase and is it better to be a limited company or a sole trader amongst others. An interesting informal debate, giving expert advice to business owners. Thank you to Brian Littlejohn for including our event in the festival schedule and organising the logistics.

  • #FarmingSuccession and the impact of the #AutumnBudget2024 It is more important than ever for you to discuss your plans for the future with the next generation and then work with all your advisors – solicitors, accountants and land agents – to work out the best strategy for your family.  Regular thought and action will be more valuable to you and your family than ever. We would be happy to meet up with you to listen to your personal circumstances and help find the option that suits you and your family the best. Emma Morris, solicitor at our Malton office and Sharon Richardson, Head of Private Client team based at our York office, have both spoken to farmers about this in November 2024 at NFU/GSC Grays business resilience events about estate planning and the impact of the Autumn Budget 2024 decisions on farmers and farming businesses. Please contact one of them for help and advice if you are involved in a family farming business. https://lnkd.in/epMWaikf
