The net zero economy supports almost 951,000 UK jobs. A new report by CBI Economics and the Energy & Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) has highlighted the key role the net zero economy is playing in UK job creation and new economic opportunities. Among the report’s findings are the following key economic achievements of the UK’s net zero policy: ✅ Net zero businesses have already contributed £28.8 billion to the UK economy  ✅ In 2023/24, net zero businesses attracted £23 billion in funding ✅ In Scotland alone, the net zero economy supports over 100,700 full-time jobs With renewable energy still in its infancy in many parts of the world, these figures show the financial benefits of a net zero policy alongside the positive environmental impact. https://lnkd.in/eJW2Ek4D #netzero #ECIU #greenenergy #cleanenergy #supplychain #netzeroeconomy #greenjobs

Clean Industry Bonus to offer up to £200m in incentives for offshore wind development. Under the new government initiative, UK offshore wind developers will receive up to £27m per GW of offshore wind energy that receives priority in locations traditionally associated with oil and gas production. All offshore wind projects included within Allocation Round 7 (AR7) of the Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme will be eligible. The new scheme will also reward developers for implementing more sustainable practices and reducing emissions throughout their supply chain and production processes. Could this new vessel design cut shipbuilding costs by 50%? A new ULSTEIN vessel design aims to cut walk-to-work vessel build costs by as much as 50%, offering an alternative option that sits between an SOV (Service Operation Vessel) and a CTV (Crew Transfer Vessel). The new vessel type will support traditional SOVs during offshore wind operations, reducing the pressure on larger vessels while maintaining safety standards and meeting project deadlines. The SX250 can accommodate up to 40 offshore operatives and will be ideal for smaller or medium-sized wind farms in shallower waters. 🚢Two new vessel concepts are part of Kongsberg Maritime’s new solutions for transporting and installing floating offshore wind turbines. The key features of the company's new floating wind installation vessel include triple cross-tensioning winch system and the capability to pull up to 900 tonnes in a single-fall configuration. A subsea construction vessel concept will be equipped with advanced systems for handling, storing, and deploying mooring elements. 🍾Two new M-Class installation vessels are heading to the market. The first, Wind Maker, has been delivered to owner Cadeler with the second, Wind Mover, due for delivery by the end of this year. These are the sixth and seventh wind installation vessels in the company's growing fleet. Wind Maker has a number of features that futureproof it for offshore installation. The vessel is operational in water depths up to 65 metres and has DP2 capability for fast, safe and energy-efficient transit and positioning. Given the pipeline of projects, Installation Vessels will become a pinch point in the market.
