We’re keeping an eye out for this evening’s much anticipated Mansion House Speech… Later today, Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves is expected to outline pivotal steps in her Mansion House speech, notably: - The launch of tokenised gilts, although this will likely take a couple of years to be fully implemented. - Proposed changes to pension regulation to encourage investment in private assets, an area where the UK lags behind its peers. - Proposals for PISCES, an exchange for private companies designed to encourage investment into currently unlisted UK companies. - Highlighting “the untapped potential we have here in Britain” and the value British businesses have across the world. We expect the Chancellor to highlight the successes of British businesses in regions like the Middle East. The Chancellor's Mansion House speech has always been important to businesses in Financial Services, but for those innovating in this sector, it creates opportunities to push forward. Gate Ventures and The Blockchain Center in #AbuDhabi announced the launch of #FalconGateVentures last month. This new venture is a $100 million fund specifically to invest in global #blockchain #innovation. Gate Ventures is the venture capital arm of Gate.io, while Abu Dhabi’s Blockchain Center is designed to be a new global hub for #Web3 technologies. Excellent inaugural Global Family Office Report from J.P. Morgan re alternative assets highlights family offices’ “presumably higher risk tolerance and longer time horizons, on average. It also speaks to their general ability to take on greater illiquidity risk.” Last month, JP Morgan published its first-ever survey of global #familyoffices’ attitudes towards #investing, with an emphasis on their appetite for #alternativeassets. When you consider that these investments include real estate and investing in early-stage companies in those same industries in which the families first amassed their fortunes, this makes perfect sense.
