A BBC News feature delves into the seed-to-patient journey at Curaleaf with journalist Adam Clarkson visiting our Portuguese cultivation site and our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sunderland Curaleaf Laboratories. Nuno Mendonça, General Manager of Iberia for Curaleaf International, emphasises the importance of our rigorous approach to cultivation and production: "The users of the illicit market have no idea what's behind the product they are purchasing. One of the most important aspects of production is to get consistency.” Since medical cannabis was legalised in the UK in 2018, Curaleaf has significantly expanded patient access, providing care to tens of thousands of patients with conditions such as anxiety, depression and chronic pain. In the latest research published this month from the team at Curaleaf Clinic, outcomes from 302 patients with generalised anxiety disorder were analysed. Cannabis-based medicinal products (CBMPs) were associated with improvements in anxiety, sleep quality and quality of life over 12 months. By analysing patient data from the UK Medical Cannabis Registry (UKMCR), real-world evidence supports the potential impact of CBMPs on a range of treatment-resistant conditions. More research is needed to determine optimal formulations and the long-term effects. Read the full paper: https://shorturl.at/fwkcG

Today marks a milestone for the UK: six years since the law change allowing the prescription of medical cannabis. Some of the positive developments driven by Curaleaf during this time include: ➡️ Improved patient access to treatment: Launching the first regulated medical cannabis clinic Curaleaf Clinic and capturing essential evidence from over 30,000 patients via the proprietary UK Medical Cannabis Registry, the largest medical cannabis registry in Europe. ➡️ Manufacturing expansion: Establishing a wide range of product formats, including flower, oils, pastilles, and liquid vape cartridges, through the first laboratory in the UK dedicated to manufacturing medical cannabis, Curaleaf Laboratories. ➡️ Research advancements: In partnership with various academic institutions, the research team have accelerated the understanding of the therapeutic potential of medical cannabis with over 50 peer-reviewed studies on this topic. Whilst these achievements are significant, more needs to be done to champion patient access to medical cannabis through awareness, education and reducing financial barriers to this treatment option. #CannabisResearch #MedicalCannabisUK #Curaleaf #6YearsofMedicalCannabis

“ENDLICH” is the campaign changing perceptions of cannabis in Germany ⬇️ Since 1st April, cannabis has been partially legalised in Germany, and with the removal of cannabis from the narcotics list, doctors can now prescribe medical cannabis more easily. The “ENDLICH” campaign which launched shortly after the law changed, aims to provide objective information on cannabis with the help of leading figures in Germany. This month, a collaboration between Four 20 Pharma GmbH, Sanity Group and SC Paderborn 07 GmbH & Co. KGaA, successfully launched a special “ENDLICH” jersey to promote awareness about medical cannabis and reduce the stigma associated with its use.
