  • 🚨 NCSC Annual Review 2024 🚨 As a cybersecurity specialist and founder of #CyberOverwatch, an NCSC Assured Service Provider, I’m proud to see the incredible work the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) continues to do in protecting the UK from ever-evolving cyber threats. The recently published NCSC Annual Review 2024 sheds light on the challenges and triumphs of the past year—and there’s much to reflect on. 🌍 A Complex Threat Landscape The NCSC highlights the increasingly sophisticated threats facing our economy and critical infrastructure, from ransomware attacks to state-sponsored intrusions. Cybercriminals now use AI to enhance their attacks, and geopolitical tensions fuel cyber espionage and disruption. ⚙️ Actionable Steps for Businesses The review emphasizes the importance of adopting basic cyber hygiene, such as the #CyberEssentials scheme, which can reduce vulnerabilities by up to 92%. Advanced threats demand advanced preparation, but even small steps can make a big difference. 🤝 Collaboration is Key Through partnerships with government, industry, and international allies, the NCSC has disrupted major threat actors, such as LockBit and Evil Corp, while championing resilience-building initiatives like the Pall Mall Process for combating cyber tool proliferation. 💡 What Can We Do? As businesses, we must prioritise cybersecurity as an enabler of growth and resilience. The NCSC offers resources, frameworks, and tailored guidance to help UK companies defend against and recover from attacks. At Cyber Overwatch, we are committed to empowering businesses with real-time visibility and proactive cyber protection. 🔒 Let’s Secure Our Future The NCSC’s mission is clear: to make the UK the safest place to live and work online. But they can’t do it alone. It’s time for all of us—SMEs, enterprises, and individuals—to play our part in supporting and strengthening the nation’s defences. We can do this in multiple ways, Cyber Essentials is a good starting point. 📢 Let’s Start the Conversation How is your business preparing for the challenges outlined in the NCSC’s review? Let’s discuss how we can navigate this complex cyber landscape together. • 20,000 users from automotive, chemical and manufacturing sectors across Europe were targeted by unknown cyber criminals in a phishing campaign. 🚗 💊 🧪 The aim of this cyber campaign was to poach account credentials and then go on to take over victims' Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. From here they then signed into new devices using the stolen information so they could keep access to the cloud environment – and the sensitive data within. 🛡️ 💻 ☁️ The campaign remained active as of September when it was discovered by Palo Alto Networks' Unit 42 researchers. 📅 🔎 👀 An important part of Cyber Security is ongoing #training for organisations. Cyber Overwatch provides training for all our clients to ensure their teams are up to date with the latest advice and best practices in the evolving world of Cyber Security including phishing attacks. It is crucial that all staff know what their role and responsibilities are to help protect their organisation and it's digital assets from cyber threats. 🤝 👨💻 🔐 #Phishing #Cloud #CyberSecurity #CyberOverwatch #InfoSecurity
