20,000 users from automotive, chemical and manufacturing sectors across Europe were targeted by unknown cyber criminals in a phishing campaign. 🚗 💊 🧪 The aim of this cyber campaign was to poach account credentials and then go on to take over victims' Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. From here they then signed into new devices using the stolen information so they could keep access to the cloud environment – and the sensitive data within. 🛡️ 💻 ☁️ The campaign remained active as of September when it was discovered by Palo Alto Networks' Unit 42 researchers. 📅 🔎 👀 An important part of Cyber Security is ongoing #training for organisations. Meta have been hit with a staggering $263 GDPR fine reports Infosecurity Magazine in the news article below. 🧑⚖️ 💵 This massive fine was issued by the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) for a large scale data breach in 2018 which affected around millions of Facebook accounts holders. 🗓️ 🔓 This cyber breach saw unauthorised individuals exploit a #vulnerability in the social media platform allowing them to log on as the owner of the account. 🖇️ 👤 A lot of personal and sensitive credentials was compromised, including full names, gender, birth date, phone and email contact details and place of work. 📱 💻 Cyber Overwatch aims to mitigate the risk of cyber security breaches for our clients. YouTube Creators and their followers have been targeted in major new global phishing campaign! 📹 🎤 Phil Muncaster of Infosecurity Magazine reports how over 200,000 YouTube creators have received malicious emails believing they are genuine business opportunities to work with recognised brands. 🈺 🎧 Victims are tricked into clicking or opening attachments containing malware. Upon extraction attackers can then steal personal credentials and even gain access to devices.
