Responding to the publication of the latest homelessness death stats today by The Scottish Government our Director of Services emphasises the importance of homelessness prevention and how it could save lives. Hana fled her home with her two children escaping domestic violence - then she found herself in unsafe and unclean temporary accommodation with her kids... It just wasn’t a place that they could recover from experiencing abuse. But then Hana came to Cyrenians and got involved with the WiSH (Women in Safe Homes) Project which has supported her into a new flat to call home... "Our new home is clean and safe. When I was in the shelter, I felt like I’d done something wrong and that I must have no worth... but now I really feel that I am supported by people not only materially but also mentally.
