As we reach the end of #nationalapprenticeshipweek, we wanted to highlight a potential route into an apprenticeship, namely T-Levels. Zach started with us this week on his work placement for around 45 days, working on the development and automation of our CAD system. T Levels are two-year vocational qualifications, combining classroom learning with with an industry placement. This is the first time we've done a placement like this, looking forward to seeing how we and Zach can make a success out of it. "How big are the control panels you manufacture" Well that depends on the application, some are quite small and others..... We recently took delivery of the enclosure from Logstrup for a large, back-to-back motor control centre, which is now in manufacture. Before starting work, we took a stroll around it. How do you ensure the safe and efficient operation of a swimming pool? Swimming pools come in all shapes and sizes, and can be found in a variety of locations. One thing all pools require is a control system to ensure the water, and hence the bathing experience is the best that it can be. That control system is embodied in an electrical control panel hidden away in the plant room. For many pools, a simple and pragmatic control panel will suffice. As the size, features and complexity of the pool increase, then so does the requirement for advanced control. In such instances, a control system embodied in a Programmeable Logic Controller (PLC) is often the optimal solution. How do you deliver 13m of control panels? Carefully, and on a large lorry. We made the biggest delivery of the year (so far) this week, with a couple of control panels heading to site. Between them they accounted for almost 1,200 hours of work and weighed in at 3.5 tonnes. There are a further 12, somewhat smaller panels to head to site separately. Our ability to deliver large suites of quality panels like this is why successful project leaders say Bensons is their first choice for major projects

Our work in the swimming pool sector encompasses both new build projects and also the refurbishment an up-grade of existing facilities, each presenting different challenges. An excellent example of a large scale refurbishment project is Basingstoke Aquadrome.
