The fact that we have observer status at IMO allows us to be realistic when we say our ultimate goal is to influence regulations to make the dry bulk handling sector more efficient, safer and more sustainable.

JOIN US FOR THE OPERATIONAL & TECHNICAL CONFERENCE IN NEW ORLEANS 19-20-21 MAY 2025 TERMINAL TOUR MISSISSIPPI RIVER Our terminal tour takes us alongside the Mississippi River, visiting our Member’s operations. The Mississippi River is known for its intensive and very efficient system of river barging, with land-based and mid-stream terminals. Allowing movement of hundreds of millions of tons annually. Visiting Impala Terminals with an expansion project on biomass. Zen-Noh Grain terminal, one of the largest and most efficient grain terminals on the Lower Mississippi River for export loadings. Avondale Global Gateway terminal of T.Parker Host, with multimodal connections, storage and laydown space at a strategic location. BUSINESS SESSIONS Safe Operations will be highly ranked on our program list, including operations under difficult weather conditions. Louisiana and other parts of the Southern USA are heavily impacted by extreme hurricanes. In recent years, more parts of the world are impacted by complicated weather types. How to prepare? How to defend yourself? What can you do to protect your people and handling equipment from these dangers? How can you reduce the impact on your operations? We will focus on this from a broader perspective, putting it on a global level. We will have speakers, panellists and other active participants from USA, Canada, South-America, Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle-East and Oceania. We will also be focusing on training, equipment developments and changes in the digital world. We will have a showcase on data capture from floating mobile harbour cranes to a terminal operating system for a wholly Mid-stream organization. GOLF TOURNAMENT The DBTG Cooper Cup Golf tournament takes place on Sunday 18th of May at the English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans. This Jack Nicklaus Signature Design, Par 72 Championship Golf Course presents a unique challenge to golfers of all skill levels. Thanks to all attendees and presenters, the International Dry Bulk Terminals Group had a very succesful Conference in London. Headquarters of International Maritime Organization and the Shard in London, hosted by University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, have been offering us great locations for this event. And as a Crown on our 25th Anniversary, we have concluded with a Gala Dinner in Trinity House. By this occasion, The International Dry Bulk Terminals Group, as a beacon in dry bulk handling industry, has awarded all attendees with a symbolic lighthouse.
