**Honored and Grateful 🙏 I am truly humbled to have been mentioned in Scottish Parliament this week. It’s an incredible privilege to see our work and efforts being recognised at such a significant level alongside celebrating Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) https://lnkd.in/efUyjYxA This acknowledgment reaffirms the importance of what we’re striving to achieve, and I couldn't be more proud of the team and everyone who has supported us along the way. A special thanks to Clare Haughey for highlighting our contributions and for recognizing the potential of entrepreneurs. We remain committed to pushing boundaries, making a difference, and creating lasting positive impact. The journey continues, and this milestone only fuels our passion to keep moving forward. It’s Impact Report day! Although I am privileged to have the opportunity to lead Social Investment Scotland, the publication of this report each year is a great opportunity to reflect on progress made, but also upcoming challenges and opportunities. The year to March 2024 saw our active loans and investments jump by £3.6 million to a record breaking £51.1 million across both SIS and SIS Ventures . But our work is about more than just numbers. The report highlights the impact of investments we have made working towards the alleviation of poverty; supporting the transition to net zero; and contributing towards economic growth. There’s also a summary of our work to support Financial Inclusion for Scotland, and our diversity, equality and inclusion activity to tackle the systemic barriers that hinder access to social investment and support. The 2024 report showcases our work with FARE Scotland Radio City Association Microplate Dx Limited Pride Outside CIC and our work with other CDFIs including Finance For Enterprise BCRS Business Loans and Business Enterprise Fund (BEF) . With thanks to our many investors and partners including NatWest Social & Community Capital ; Lloyds Banking Group; Virgin Money; Better Society Capital, The Scottish Government; The University of Edinburgh; Esmée Fairbairn Foundation ; Carnegie UK Trust; Firstport; Dechomai Ltd; Social Enterprise Scotland; Zero Waste Scotland; People's Postcode Lottery; Pathways Forward; Impact Investing Institute; Responsible Finance; and of course my amazing SIS team, board and committee members! 👉 https://lnkd.in/e9AGZBFc #ImpactReport #Sustainability #SocialInvestment #NetZero #SocialImpact

When the Scottish Government were developing the National Strategy for Economic Transformation, like many others Social Investment Scotland were keen to see social enterprise recognised as one of the ways in which this transformation could be realised. In some ways this parity of esteem was achieved through some of the strategy's recommendations, one of which has been progressed today via the publication of this report: Developing Scotland's Economy: Increasing the Role of Inclusive and Democratic Business Models. I know the other members of the working group won't want to see this report filed away; luckily many of the report's recommendations resonate with the SIS strategy to Build an Impact Economy, encompassing social enterprises, co-ops and employee owned businesses. Particularly in terms of Access to Finance, there are common actions with the recent Access Report published by SIS, Firstport & Dechomai Ltd. You can read the full report here 👇👇👇 https://lnkd.in/e2AxD2uT
