Who’s in ‘The Shed’ at Young V&A right now? ‘Old Heap’ is a collaborative project by artist Rosita Kær & designer Orin Bristow. They have set up a Riso printing studio in order to explore an experimental and workshop-driven approach to printed matter and DIY publishing. Visitors are invited into their studio ‘The Shed’ twice a week to experiment with drawing, poetry and collage exercises. ‘Old Heap’ runs until the end of February, open Thursdays 11:00 - 13:00 and Saturdays 14:00 - 16:00. The placement is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond) in collaboration with Young V&A (Victoria and Albert Museum). Photo: Felicity McCabe

Last week, the Danish Embassy led by Ambassador René Rosager Dinesen had the pleasure of visiting Arla Foods’s Aylesbury dairy - the biggest dairy in the UK. The plant handles more than one billion liters of #milk from British #farmers every year. Arla is a cooperative owned by farmers in #Denmark, #Sweden, the #UK, #Germany, and #Benelux. It was very inspiring to learn about Arla’s efforts to reduce CO2 emissions both at farm level and throughout the entire production chain. On the subject of #emissions, Denmark’s green tripartite agreement introduces the world’s first tax on #CO2 emissions, starting an exciting transition through which agricultural #production will become more sustainable yet maintain high productivity. This can only be achieved by developing and utilising new #green agricultural solutions. Adoption of these new technologies is a shared ambition between #British and #Danish farmers, and exchanging information and best practices is something the Danish Embassy is eager to facilitate. Both Denmark and the UK are global frontrunners when it comes to the development of a #digital public sector 💻 🌐 The UK continues to excel in its online service provision and building #AI capacity, and in #Denmark digital initiatives are seamlessly integrated into various sectors such as #healthcare, public services, and education. ”Denmark and the UK are both very like-minded and mature in building a digital public sector. Especially when we look at AI, the UK is in the global top tier in investing in AI and innovation, and we can learn from that,” says our digital counsellor, Sidsel Bülow Skovborg. She is the embassy’s first digital counsellor and has been posted to the #Danish Embassy in London to establish a government-to-government #collaboration between #Denmark and the #UK on developing a strong digital public sector. Watch along as she explains the importance of digital #governance, and how collaboration between the two countries is the key to digital #transformation. Yesterday, the Danish Ambassador René Dinesen met with the leadership of University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet) as part of their visit to London. They discussed the strong #Danish links with #British universities and the fast-moving landscape in science and innovation. #Science, #research and #technology is a key part of the bilateral relationship between Denmark and the UK, including a shared focus on emerging technologies. As a ‘KU’ alumnus, the Ambassador was also very happy to receive a reminder of his time there. Thank you for the visit! 👏 #scienceandtech #DKUK #collaboration

Denmark enters the Security Council as an elected member today, 1 January 2025. We are honoured and proud to have taken up this position at a time, where multilateralism is under pressure and we see instability and threats to international peace and security around the world. In a time like this, it is important to keep the Council well-functioning and effective. We stand ready to do our part. #UNSC #DKinUNSC #peaceandsecurity Photo credit: UN/Evan Schneider
