Fantastic news for Bakewell and surrounding villages! LINK, the UK’s cash access and ATM network, has today recommended eight new banking hubs across the UK - including Bakewell. This welcome announcement recognises your District Council's efforts in convening a meeting in Bakewell following a Council resolution earlier in the year, the direct liaison with LINK and the very positive work done by our MP John Whitby 👍 In February this year, the Bakewell branch of the NatWest Bank closed permanently. It was the last remaining High Street bank in the town and in the whole of the Peak District National Park. The closure took place despite strenuous opposition. https://lnkd.in/eBjuFYFU

Parking is FREE again in our pay and display car parks after 2pm throughout December for a 17th year. This initiative has traditionally supported local traders and shoppers at Christmas. The resident parking permit issued to all Derbyshire Dales households already makes parking free every day of the year before 11am and after 3pm Again this year, to support the Council’s 2030 net zero carbon emissions target, we are also urging visitors and residents to support Dales businesses by making best use of public transport, car sharing, cycling and walking where possible.
