Earlier this year Trimble Tekla UK approached D4S to produce a case study, that would focus on the power of its software and how it enables us to maximise our integration of Engineering and Detailing in-house. You can watch the full edit here: https://lnkd.in/edswRPfH We discuss how we uniquely take greater responsibility during the design phase, which means our clients...whether that's the developer, contractor or manufacturer...can achieve more accurate planning of materials, timescales, cost and resource, with risk around decisions removed as far as possible. #tekla #teklastructures #trimbleconnect #collaboration #integration #structuralengineering #civilengineering

Early Collaboration and Decisive Leadership: A Q&A with David Glover, CEO for SPS Technology Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eAdyhQCt Background: We’ve been working closely with David and the SPS Technology team since 2023, when they were seeking a long-term partner to provide engineering and construction modelling services towards the innovative, manufacture and installation of its unique ‘sandwich-plate-system’. The product has been utilised across many sectors, but has raised particular interest in the role it plays in the refurbishment and expansion of stadiums and arenas. David has vast experience from across the entire construction industry and as CEO of SPST, is an advocate in the value of smart and decisive decision making, a fully collaborative team and detailed design taking place earlier in the project workflow – hear hear 🙌 “The detailed design phase is critical. Decisions need to be taken and schedules met. The answer lies in bringing the entire team, right through to the installers, into fully designing and detailing in the virtual environment rather than assuming problems will be solved on site, at the end.” Within this article, David shares insight into how they are streamlining their workflows at SPS, through developing strong, transparent relationships with Design 4 Structures and all those involved in the innovation, design and manufacture of their product.

Did you know that Greece is where a huge part of our journey began? Eight years ago, at a desk in a bedroom in Trikala, our Director Elita Nteri started building the foundation for our Construction Engineering services, while Jonathan Lock was busy shaping the D4S brand in the UK. At the same time, Nikos Sidiras was further expanding our construction modelling team from Komotini. Today, the Greek teams have grown to include eight skilled construction engineers and technicians. Together, with the rest of the business, we’re delivering projects seamlessly across Greece, the UK, Italy — distance doesn’t hold us back! Our recent leadership team visit to Greece was filled with productivity, strategic planning, and, naturally, limitless hospitality, delicious food, and great company 👇 .

D4S appointment news! Design 4 Structures is working closely with Hill Group UK on multiple redevelopment schemes as part of the Cambridge Investment Partnership. The partnership which brings together Cambridge City Council and Hill Investment Partnerships was established in 2017, to address housing shortages across Cambridge. Aiming to deliver a minimum of 1,700 new homes within 10 years, one of the key areas of focus is Passivhaus accredited council homes. With our cross-discipline expertise we are providing infrastructure and structural design support between RIBA stages 2 and 5. Through early engagement we can inform, develop solutions and fully-coordinate a programme, that factors in building requirements whilst optimising the ongoing seamless delivery of housing. 🏠 Fanshawe Road Stages 2-5, infrastructure and structural design for 84 homes, consisting of apartment blocks and houses, plus Passivhaus standards to be achieved for a proportion of the development. Architect: Wincer Kievenaar Architects Limited MEP Consultant: Mendick Waring Limited 🏠 East Barnwell Phase 1 Stages 2-5, infrastructure and structural design, for a mixed-use development, featuring 120 sustainable council homes across 2 sites. With contributions from our offsite engineering leads Adam Harkin and Alexander Kearney, today the BCSA - British Constructional Steelwork Association, officially launches the National Light-Gauge Steelwork Specification, which comes into effect in April 2025. Good to see progress being made around standardisation, clarification and a unified approach across industry. Great work as always from the team! 👏 Steel Construction Institute #NLSS #BCSA #LGSF #LSF #lightgauge #newhomes #socialhousing

Earlier this month, some of the team headed to events in Europe: > For Elita Nteri it was the ALUMINIUM - World Trade Fair and Conference in Dusseldorf, Germany. As we further expand our Aluminium design solutions, the event brought plenty of opportunity to discuss partnerships and collaborations around the circular economy and further innovations in the use of the material and its sustainable qualities. > Francesco Pisciotti went along to SAIE in Bologna, where lots of positive conversations took place around the Italian construction and manufacturing industry and the potential to innovate the process through our approach at D4S. We look forward to sharing more of our work overseas in the future! #SAIE2024 #Aluminium #structuralengineer #europeconstruction #innovation #sustainability

Great work and great progress 👏 👏
🏗️ Exciting Progress at Francis Barber PRU School - Temporary Site 🏗️ Last week Jerome and myself paid a visit to the Temporary Site of Francis Barber PRU School. We at Design4Structures are thrilled to be part of this journey as the structural and civil engineers for the substructure and below-ground drainage. Working closely with Baxall Construction, we are making sure everything beneath the surface is ready to support the project above! 💪 Even on a very rainy day, we witnessed how well the porous asphalt pavement performed—taking in all the rainwater like a champ! 🌧️👏 From solid foundations to efficient drainage systems, every detail matters, and we are proud of how it is all coming together. Big shoutout to Steve Smith and the site team for their dedication and hard work, as well as Francesco Pisciotti as Design4Structures project lead. Looking forward to attending the Francis Barber PRU School Contract Celebration tomorrow, with, Jonathan Lock, Matt Goold, Mihajlo Gojkovic and Jerome Klein. Excited to meet the design team and celebrate the hard work that went into this project!
