We were pleased to volunteer our time to Hospiscare last week, taking part in their Christmas Tree Recycling campaign. The charity, which provides specialist care to patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses, was urgently looking for volunteers to collect Christmas trees to raise funds. Food banks across the region have seen a huge increase in demand and they are under even more strain during the winter months. We wanted to do our bit to help so the Devonshire Homes team collected essential food items throughout December to donate to our Charity of the Year, Churches Housing Action Team Ltd (CHAT). Our donation along with many others has helped those in Mid Devon to fill their cupboards and put food on the table, for Christmas and beyond. Last week, Sales Manager Sarah Hall and Marketing Apprentice Alfie Coker met with Izzie and Kelly at The Balsam Centre in Wincanton. Sarah and Alfie were given a tour of the centre and presented them with a £300 cheque on behalf of Devonshire Homes. The Balsam Centre, just a five-minute drive away from our site Dancing Green, is a community hub based in the heart of Wincanton that strives for better mental health. With strong local connections, they are able to host professional services whilst their volunteers go the extra mile with clubs, workshops and cafés to support the community's needs.
