💡I cant stop thinking about showing 'Streets of Change VR' a week ago in Glasgow at 'Changing the Narrative of Homelessness and Poverty'. It was such a good event with a very receptive audience organised by Mike Findlay-Agnew FRSA 🌈📚✍. The impact of 'Streets of Change' as a story told in Virtual Reality hit home and we gathered the most insightful feedback so far. 🌍 'Streets of Change' has already been seen by over 2500 people through a tour in Northampton, being shown at #ASFF (Aesthetica Film Festival) and GaMaYo (Game Republic), but we are committed to touring this project much wider to raise awareness of homelessness in light of the increasing numbers of people becoming vulnerable due to poverty. 🤔I'm seeking ideas or practical advice on how we, as a charity, can fund a series of events/screenings/festivals throughout 2025 for a Streets of Change tour? We are seeking a talented part-time Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to cutting-edge projects in the embedded systems space. This position is exclusively for students currently enrolled in graduate or master's programs, or recent graduates in relevant fields. Type: Part-Time (10-25 hours/week), One-Year Contract (with the possibility to transition to full-time) (three-month probation period) Job Description: The Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software for embedded systems. The role requires proficiency in C programming and experience working with various microcontrollers and platforms, including ARM, Atmel, PIC, ESP32, and STMs. Key Responsibilities:              •           Develop and maintain embedded software applications using C.              •           Design and implement software solutions for ARM, Atmel, PIC, ESP32, and STM microcontrollers.              •           Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software and hardware components.              •           Conduct testing and debugging of electronics to ensure functionality and performance.              •           Provide technical support and documentation for software solutions.              •           Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope. Qualifications:              •           Experience with microcontroller platforms like ARM, Atmel, PIC, ESP32, and STM.              •           Solid understanding of electronic components and circuit design.              •           Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.              •           Experience with software debugging and testing methodologies.              •           Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.              •           Excellent communication and teamwork skills. The reason we like to put on free events at Vulcan Works is the high calibre of presenters who want to get involved. Today's Vulcan Session on Product Management and Design Essentials was no exception - both Kiran P. and David S. were excellent. Kiran talked about the theory of #ProductManagement and how the skills involved can be used across most roles in business. Then we heard David's personal journey in developing the many iterations of his Mavis Technologies Limited smart glasses and how his production process is about to ramp up. The number one rule we have for Digital Northants events is that we aren't salesy. As a result, we think today's audience would have learned a lot. Digital Northants had a fantastic time visiting the students at the University of Northampton today and seeing the progress they have made on their arcade games. 🎮🏉 The team from Goblin Academics and the students are working hard on an exciting game series to promote the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup, with some of the matches set to take place at Franklin’s Gardens. 📍🏟️ We’re looking forward to checking back in soon, but it is good to see things are shaping up nicely!
