🌟 Welcome to the Digital Somerset Board, Alex Clancy! 🌟 We’re pleased to announce that Alex has accepted a role on the board with Digital Somerset. 🚀 Alex joins the Digital Somerset board, bringing years of experience in education, global brands, and tech innovation. Prior to moving into education, Alex spent 12 years in the retail and technology sector with market leaders Specsavers and Dyson, working across a range of account management and business development roles. During this time, he helped pioneers of technology and supported ‘tech game changer’ NPI launches across floor, air, lighting, hair, and eye care products. Alex later transitioned into education, serving as Head of Business Development at Wiltshire College & University Centre and now as Assistant Principal for Employer Engagement at Yeovil College. In this role, Alex directly supports around 5,000 learners across South Somerset, North & West Dorset, including approximately 1,200 apprentices and their respective businesses. This includes partnerships with some of the largest tech employers in Somerset, particularly in the defence and manufacturing sectors. Alex is also part of the Regional Place Leadership Group for South Somerset, North & West Dorset and is actively involved with key strategic stakeholders across the South West, including at Hydrogen South West, the South West Regional Defence & Security Cluster, the West of England Institute of Technology, and Yeovil Chamber and Somerset Chamber of Commerce. We’re blown away that Alex has chosen to support us, we can’t to see what his energy and expertise will bring to our mission of driving digital innovation and collaboration across Somerset.
