What an inspiring panel we heard from yesterday! Partnering with Carnegie School Of Sport, it was brilliant to get the Sports Tech community together to have some of the very conversations that Digital Sport North was started to help happen 👏 Expertly led by Rich Williams, we kicked off with the key players building and mapping the Ecosystem: Stuart Clarke MBE, Founder of Leeds Digital and UK Tech Week, Alex Craven, CEO of The Data City, and Richelle Schuster, Chief Innovation Officer of exciting new venture Virtual Sports Group. It was fantastic to unpack and put real-life data to the ‘Sports Tech’ sector we’re always talking about, highlighting the incredible growth opportunities we have right here in the North. As all of our speakers echoed - why would you want to be anywhere else? The second half of the evening spotlighted James Thomas, Managing Director or Azzuu, Liam Parkinson, Founder of Engage Partnerships, and Michelle Anderson, Marketing and AI Leader & Consultant at Soul Padel, for some open conversations about entrepreneurship and the journey of building a Sports Tech business - from gaining that first investor’s trust to matching the pace of a rapidly growing sector. All followed by plenty of drinks and networking 🍻 As our speakers shared, a lot of it comes down to being a good person. And we want to keep bringing those people together. A massive thank you to The Knowledge Exchange (TKE) at Leeds Beckett University for hosting us, it was great to highlight the amazing work they're doing to grow the Leeds business community and nurture our next gen of entrepreneurs!
